I may not know my comic book plot lines, but what's not for us old folks to love about the Guardians of the Galaxy music? Like this mix from the first movie and this other mix from Vol. 2. I had a Sony Walkman just like Peter Quill's. Good times.
The movie theater was quite crowded, probably because the weather was crap. Grey, cold, windy. We decided to go to the movies along with everyone else. Our May has not been particularly flowerish, but more showerish, snowish even.

At least we had ONE good weather day this week. It happily coincided with graduation at the Air Force Academy, which is always special because the Thunderbirds come to town and give a good shake to our windows and foundations and teeth.
So the flick was silly entertainment if lacking in a thick and juicy plot (IMHO). Gotta love all those characters. Afterwards, we went out for some Mexican food. Meego ordered probably the most calorically hefty item on the menu - Fajitas Gargantuas or something like that. If I ate like Meego does, I'd weigh about 400 pounds. My metabolism hasn't reached heights like that since I had that Sony Walkman.
And speaking of food, today is my Uncle's birthday. I have many relatives in the Philippines, and I only know them through facebook. They seem like a fun bunch.
Here's my uncle, the birthday boy (Mom's youngest brother) and one of my cousins. Check out the spread, that pig still has a face!
I think I'd like to party with them.

The soundtrack to both movies are so good. I have yet to see the second but I recently caught the first one again on tv so I'm all refreshed now.
And now I'm hungry after reading this post.
I'd like to party with your relatives too, but maybe without the pig?
Oh to have the metabolism I had when I was in my 20's. Sigh.
The Thunderbirds are always amazing, I have seen them a few times...they are great.
Your Uncles birthday spread looks like partying is definitely on the agenda.
I enjoyed both of the Guardians of the Galaxy movies -- it doesn't seem like there are many movies any more that I can enjoy with my kids. They love superhero movies, and I liked the quirky humor and soundtracks. That feast looks amazing!
Maybe I should've refreshed before seeing the second GotG, but it was still fun.
You think the pig still has eyeballs?
We've lived here for several USAFA graduations, but always enjoy the Thunderbirds' visit. I think my uncle turned 82. worthy of a "pig out"
My kids like superhero movies too, and I love the characters of Guardians of the Galaxy. Surprisingly (not), they don't enjoy the chick flicks...
I have seen so many guy flicks (?) and not once have they watched a chick flick with me. I guess I am a bit outnumbered. Even when Mario is with us, we succumb to them. They would likely ruin a chick flick for me though, so perhaps it's a good thing we watch what they like.
I've seen the Thunderbirds many times, and they're always fun to watch. Can you see them from your house?
I think you're right. I'd just as soon not have the guys around while I'm trying to watch a good chick flick!
Yes, the Thunderbirds cover quite a wide chunk of sky when they do their thing for graduation, so our neighborhood gets rightly buzzed. Pretty! (although probably not the term they're going for...)
Guardians 2 seemed a bit sad to me, but I love the soundtrack, too.
The Thunderbirds are entertaining, but that feast looks amazing! Maybe even better if the pig was blindfolded?
I thought Kurt Russell's character and the general plot were a bit hokey, but I was a crybaby at the sad bits.
That might help? "Blindfolded Roast Pig" sounds rather exotic...
I've not yet seen the movie and will probably have to wait until it's on TV sadly. No theater here in Rangely. I need to check-in here with you more! I realize I have missed much of your life by not checking in! RE: Party .... oink! 😁
Hi LauraBelle! *waving* Rangely? As in, Rangely, CO? No theater, but at least they have internet :)
