That's why Joe dragged me to Florida. Every winter I'd get so depressed that I was even looking to buy one of those special lights you stare in for an hour every morning.
Cold here too. AND we've had a bunch of snow dumped on us. Florida is looking even more promising.... So does it help to go extra fast and get there quick, or very slow to avoid the wind chill factor?
I saw a guy out cycling this morning as I was almost to work. He was pretty bundled up, but the mask thingy he had on his face was all white and frozen. I thought of you... and how even you would have chosen to ride the bus.
I often ask myself that question. It's kinda like, do you run in the rain to get to shelter faster? Or do you walk and get hit less frequently? You pretty much end up in the same place either way. Florida sounds goooooood right now.
We do need the sun. For warmth as well as mood. It has been below zero here often this week. So darn cold. Have to bundle up to take trash out. Can't step out or run to the car without many layers on and no breathing of the cold air. Did you know your sinuses actually freeze?
If that's your version of "no sun", ya oughta try a winter month in the Pacific Northwest! It's clear here today, but it's soooo cold some of our pipes are frozen ("Each toilet gets only one flush, people! Make it count!").
Actually, that's my fix for what I'm missing, even though it's a little cloudy in the vid. But yeah, we've only been 4 days without sun, but it's single digit temps with double digit wind speed again. Waaaaaah. At least the toilets flush.
We are in a deep freeze here, too. Yesterday on Facebook I wrote "-8 here. -456 with the windchill." The wind has been wicked as it often is. We are in a wind tunnel here in this part of the Fraser Valley. Even if I got on my bike I would not get very far before I was blown over. I've been away a long time, working on a writing project, but I'm back now. I won't try and catch up, but I'll enjoy reading your musings once again :) Have you climbed in the tank with the snake yet?
The cold is one thing, but the wind ... not liking it! The snake's got the best room in the house! We have a Fraser in Colorado. So named because it's a perpetual freezer. I imagine your valley was named for the same reason? Nice to see you!
Oh yeah. I can totally relate. While I love a good thunderstorm and/or snow day - when it's too dark for too many days in a row - it gets depressing! Here's hoping you get a glimpse of sunshine soon!

It's friggin' freezing here in the UK too. Still only 3/4 months of this to go!
And where are all the cars in your video! I spotted 2!

Oh... it was -4 degrees at that time of day.
3 to 4 months. We can do this!
This was a relatively early Sunday morning, so car people were either getting ready for church or hungover... or both.
I don't think Magnum's going to drag me to Florida anytime soon. I'm thinking of moving in with the snake.

-4?!? I wonder if he still has toes?!
Here, it's cold, yes. Also, the bike paths and lanes are covered in snow and ice. Might as well wear a big "ROAD HAZARD" sign.

We are certainly not alone in this deep freeze. Sinuses freeze? Well, that explains a few things!
