the return

This morning at the crosswalk...

See it?  Behind me?  Approaching?  (not the bunny)

Actually, not an "it", but a "her".  Bike Lady hath returneth!

ALACAZAM!  Behold the power of the blog!

Recall   last week   a couple of weeks ago   recently that I mentioned that the ever consistent Bike Lady had been missing in action since before Thanksgiving.  It was a curious thing, a bit worrisome perhaps, but not too.

Well, it seems that putting it out there in blogland has conjured her back up.  She appeared like a ghost in the sunlight this morning.

"Hey!  I wondered aboutchoo!", I hailed

"Yeah, I started working a later shift", she explained with a hint of apology.  "But I decided to go to the gym earlier, so..."

I'm relieved.  During those weeks I wondered after her whereabouts, I thought it possible I might run into her somewhere else.  But would I even recognize her?  She's always wearing helmet/ponytail/dark shades while on the commute.

This morning, the dark shades were replaced with a pair of clear eye protectors.  I'm pretty sure that, nope, I wouldn't have recognized her without the getup.

So thank you, blog friends, for your positive JuJu sent in the name of Bike Lady (whose real name I still don't know).  She's alive and well, still riding.  Not that I was worried.

But next time, she better clear it with me first!

It's amazing what blog juju can do. It worked for Link, and now for Bike Lady! Call on us to help anytime!

The healing waters of Lourdes have got nothing on blog juju.

It's looking rather balmy at the crosswalk! Are you not suffering miserable cold weather like the rest of us? How dare you?

Glad to see that Bike Lady is still biking and doing well. Funny how easy it is to form a little attachment to someone like her, even though you don't really know her. I think we've all been there at one time or another.

Hooray for the return of the Bike Lady! And I gotta say, if the weather over there is anything like the weather over here, she is one BRAVE soul!

At least you do your wondering outside in the sunshine. I get so involved with my bloggers that I start wondering what they're doing when there's no new post to read.

So true. I don't even really know her, but I was surprisingly relieved to see her this morning!

I guess I'll call off the posse now.

That's just the thing. Bike Lady rides in all kinds of crap! Where could she be?!

Abby said...

I do that too! If you take a break, you'd better leave us some notice!

HooRay! Return of Bike Lady! Good to know that nothing nefarious had happened to her (although, I was leaning towards the Sugar Daddy theory). It shows that blog JuJu is something not to take for granted.

So I'm staring at the two drawings. Some things appear to be exactly the same, like the grass/weeds, the ridge at the upper left corner, your vest...

But the mountains are different, and the badge hanging around your neck looks a different size...

So besides drawing in bike lady and then erasing her and drawing her again, what else did you do to get this almost duplicate image?

Oh, glad Bike Lady is amongst the living!

Glad to hear she is OK!

I love the sketch - and Terri is right, it looks far too warm...

Terri is right. It is far too warm.

You are SO observant!
That's exactly what I did - drew in Bike Lady, erased her, drew her in again. Then I added the mountains after, so they're different. And the badge difference is probably a scanner ghost.

Wonder if I should get that checked?

If our blog juju was REALLY good, she'd have a sugar daddy.

Nice slice of life. That's why Al Gore invented the internet.
