This week's prompt over at
Illustration Friday is "wings", so I was naturally inclined to do something profoundly spiritual... Buzz Lightyear!
Okay, so maybe I just wanted to draw Buzz Lightyear for grins, but STILL! He is a role model. I think. Remember, before he realized he was "just a toy", he really believed he could fly, and so he did - sending all the female toys into a swoon. (C'mon ladies, we've all been there).
We've all got wings. None of us is "just a toy".
I believe I can fly.... Everybody sing!

That's not flying.
That's falling...with style.
Guano is So right!
I think Toy Story was my most favorite movie of ALL the movies I watched with the kids. And you've just brought back so many great memories!
"I believe I can touch the sky...."
No doubt about it - he's unmistakably Buzz!
I'm singing.
The kids were pulling up Adele's tunes on "You Tube," I guess, and we were, uh, singing away, today.
Now "I believe I can fly" is in my head!
That is a great drawing. Sorry I dunno the story behind Buzz Lightyear as I've only seen part of the last film. When I think "I Believe I Can Fly" I just think of R. Kelly!
I like how Guano put it - falling with style.
One of Tim Allen's better characters. To Infinity and Beyond!
That is a fabulous depiction of Buzz. You've really captured his personality. He was a favorite in our house. One of the kids had the Buzz Lightyear toy and he spent many happy days flying around our house and launching off the top bunk in the boys' room.
... I BELIEVE I CAN FLY ...
YOU DREW THAT?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! TOTES AMAZEBALLS!
ah, Guano beat me to it!
