ferocious
Happy Illustration Friday! This week's prompt is "Ferocious", so pardon the rather gorey depiction.
We once had a venus flytrap for a family member. She would keep the house free of flies... well, not really. We would have to catch the flies and then feed them to our Venus as she was in a terrarium. But still!
It was epic.
So for that reason, I decided to go all out this week and include an entire freaking (3 min.) movie for the epic slow death of the courageous grasshopper. Pop the popcorn, and turn up the volume...
* NO ACTUAL BUGS WERE HARMED DURING THE PRODUCTION OF THIS MOVIE *

oh, ferocious for sure! Great vid! POP ART MINIS
I see that I have to add producer, director, and sound man (oops, sound woman) to your already impressive resume of artist, engineer, tutor, mom, wife, and crossing guard.
Entertaining process that produced a set of attractive venus flytraps.
Hey Abby! Great post. Love your illo and really dug the movie! Two thumbs up!
Everyone seems to be doing animals for this subject. I think your take on it is original and yet pertinent. Plus excellent way to illustrate by using a video.
I leave you my blog link in case you want to see what I did for this post.

Oooooh, I love the video! Very dynamic!
I nominate it for an Academy Award - Best Animated Series of the Death of a Grasshopper.
Fantastic timelapse of your work. And I just thought you just threw these sketches together in 5 minutes on a sketch pad when you had a few moments to spare. Bravo!
This is funny: we had a Venus Fly trap as well and we had to feed it. We had long discussions on whether we would kill flies and give it to Venus or if we would only provide it with dead flies. Eventually we only gave dead flies and the Venus died after a few months. Probably it disliked our soft attitude. ;-)

The beautiful drawing was impressive enough, but the video was the icing on the cake. It was so interesting to see you working. Also a great idea for ferocious!
love the video so fun...as is your venus flytrap
Beautiful drawing! We actually saw some of these in the wild, in northern New Hampshire-- northern pitcher plants.
