back to the drawing board

Here we go, Inktoberites!  Who's with me??

The first prompt for Inktober 2020 is "fish", so I drew this robot fish.  Or is it a fish robot? Robotic fish? Fishic robot?

Well, whatever.  I heard of devices that are meant to monitor water pollution.  They are designed to swim like fish rather than move like submarines, as fish swimming is much more energy efficient than submarine propulsion.

As far as I know, they only monitor pollutants and help to create maps of water pollution.  It'd be nice if they cleaned it up, too.  A little?

The activity brought back memories of the cute little robot lawnmower at the hospital job I recently left.  I hope he's doing well.

One down, thirty to go...

I LOVE your fish!! Oddly enough I just got this in my email

-Sadly this year is a bit different - it turns out the creator of inktober is a bit of a rotter. After a decade, and loads of artists sharing work to build the movement he’s decided to profit from it and trademark inktober. That’s really sad and against the sharing spirit of the art community.

Jake Parker, the creator of iInktober has even been getting his lawyers to send nasty letters to small artists to stop them selling their work if it has the word inktober on it.

That’s such a shame and I wanted to do something about it - so I’ve come up with my own list of daily prompts and a little free downloadable funpack to get your inspiration going!

So Pinktober is offering another list of prompts as well as a free package just to "show" Jake how it's done.
Curious, I won't do either of them BUT I do love your fish!! SO MUCH!

Linda Sue, hmmm... I'd not heard of the gutter side of Inktober, but sadly, I'm not surprised if it's true. I don't follow Jake Parker at all, but I've watched a video or two of his. Nothing noteworthy INHO. I do know that there are alternate prompt lists. And I appreciate your appreciation of m'fish!

Who's with you? Oh I can't draw a stick figure well.
But I will enjoy your venture into Inktober as I did last year. There should be something for those who are talentless. :-)

Peggy, "...something for those who are talentless". HA! So not true for you!

16th is about the only day I'd be remotely good for. Rockets, as super-complicated as they are, are pretty easy to draw says 7-yr-old me. After all, there's a reason they say, "It ain't rocket science" instead of "It ain't rocket drawing" when something's easy. That said, I'm SURE your rocket will set a high bar!

And agree, dig the fish!

Anonymous, I hadn't even looked at the whole prompt list until your comment. Just trying to keep my head above water a day at a time. I (10) my (16) and others (23), but Inktober often feels (30).
