Silver Liningness Sunday

Happy 420!... er... Easter!

Meego's got the spring cleaning bug apparently and is cleaning and renovating Reese's habitat while I am left with the job of snake entertainer, so prepare for typos.  Additionally, that was a rather long sentence.

This week was another goodie.  China seems to really like her short do, she's been frolicking around like a puppy.  If that's the secret to youth, maybe I'll go get a buzz.

This week has been a tough one for my hometown.  I won't go into deep details, but it all started with a fun story about a llama that had gotten loose and was running around.  It made lighthearted news stories, but then things took a bad turn when the llama was killed.  ANYWAY, the teens who killed the llama, with the backing of the owner, did the STUPID thing and posted boastfully about it all over facebook.

I'm not sure what led to the killing, but by that time, the errant llama had developed quite a fan following and the fallout over the llamacide has been NASTY nasty.  I went to innocently check my facebook feed this morning, and the flame fanning hasn't stopped.

So I left and went over the deviantart for some art therapy.  Always a fun time over there, with their bazillion or so members.  But then I was reminded that llamas are quite prevalent over there!  Members give each other llama badges as tokens of appreciation for their artworks, etc.  Then certain llama levels are reached based on the number of badges earned.  So I couldn't escape the llama drama like I'd wanted to!  But this piece always makes me happy, so I feature it here anyway.  This particular artist had reached Albino Llama level (50 badges) and was noticeably happy:

It cheered me somewhat, but still not nice what's going on back home.  I think I'll just go on sabbatical from facebook for about six months or so, and think happy thoughts and rainbow farts.

NO fun hearing about the fate of the poor llama, but the funny pic makes up for it a little. Happy Easter to you!

Well I'm sorry to hear about the fate of that poor llama. The llama badge sure is fun though. I'm particularly amused by the rainbow fart! :-)

I deactivated my facebook account two months ago, and I'm not sure I'm going back anytime soon, if ever (which should explain the massive-er amounts of blogging from me lately). Truer words have never been said since "Ain't nobody got time for that!"

Oh how sad! Wouldn't a tranquilizer gun have worked? (Never mind. I don't really want to know the whys behind them killing it.)
But cute pic! Anytime I hear bad news now, I'll think of rainbow farts. :)

Happy Easter, Elizabeth Rose!

When I first came upon this happy farting llama, I didn't yet know what an albino llama signified. Who wouldn't be happy in such a way!?

I hadn't heard about the llama--how sad! I'm frequently getting annoyed by something or other on Facebook, even without something like that.

I skim passed a lot of facebook stuff, and am definitely staying out of this topic! I never got into Candy Crush, the Llama Drama gets the same.

It is sad, and I understand the boys are remorseful about the boastful postings, mainly from all the backlash. Treatment of animals is a very divisive topic! Throw treatment of minors in there, and it's a firestorm! Count me out, nothing but rainbow farts for me!

I usually use facebook for funny cartoons and secret shopping deals. This is neither!

So sad about the llama! I wonder if those boys actually feel sorry about any of it other than feeling like victims themselves for receiving criticism about their actions? I had to laugh about your picture about screaming about wanting the snow to stop. I got some last week too and felt just like that picture.

Oh, dear. Won't dwell on the llama drama...

I will say that the timing of this post couldn't be better: *I* actually farted a rainbow this morning! It made a tinkling noise. Perfectly delightful.

Who knows what those boys were thinking - before and since. I think things are starting to cool off some, at least. And hopefully we're done with snow for a long while!

Note to self: do NOT read comments from Ms. CrankyPants while sitting in class trying to appear as if referencing relevant class content.

Wow. Had no idea a such a llama drama kill-o-rama was afoot at the ol' alma mater.

(Poor guy)

Geez, that's rather nasty.

What exactly does being a snake entertainer entail?

Abby said...

It really did turn into a "series of unfortunate events", and I'm just hearing the peripherals. There's talk of pressing charges against the kids, but not sure where that stands.

Abby said...

It mainly entailed me having the snake slither in and out of my clothing looking for warm places. ahem.

Poor Llama! We've had two similar stories in BC about runaway Llamas, but then, they were both rescued and returned to their fields unharmed.
No rainbows appeared, however, as they ran down the highway. Not to my knowledge, anyway.

Poor Llama, I can see that this would cause a lot of bad feeling! Best to keep a low profile I guess.

I dare you to go and get a buzz cut!

Come on! Go for the buzz cut. I dare you!

Sorry to hear about the lama drama. Really depresses me to read about what some people do to animals (much less other people). There are some really sick idiots out there (or just plain stupid).

Your brother - funny - quite the poet. :)

And you have a knack for making a sad story funny. I feel for the llama, but got a laugh anyway. Guess I should Google it to get back on the sad track.
