It's all good I suppose, but doesn't leave much time for writing what I'd rather be writing... in this blog. Instead I'm writing all these final mumbo jumbos.
In other news, the weather's been lovely, so at least I have nice bike rides to and from to break up the final monotony. Yesterday, as I neared the crest of thigh-buster hill entering campus, I found that traffic was at a complete stop. There's a big construction zone in that area that has recently spilled to both sides of the road.
From what I could tell, traffic was stopped to allow for this big flatbed truck to enter one side of the construction zone to retrieve some big piece of earth moving equipment. So all the cars are sitting there idling while the big flatbed truck backed into the fence, pulled forward about five feet, backed into the fence, pulled forward about 5 feet, backed into the fence, pulled for... well, you get the drift.
When I realized the traffic would be moving nowhere for a long time, I just picked up the nimble Alice and headed to the pedestrian walkway. See ya! Yet another reason to be glad I wasn't trapped in a car.
In the meantime, my blogfriends all have updates, and I want to come read. I just need to take care of a few things first!

Good luck with all the mumbo jumbo stuff!
Hm, there are roadworks on my route next week - the road will be "closed" but I intend to enjoy it all to myself...
This is always a crazy time of year for me - April thru half of June. And then there is September as school routines starts. And November thru January 6 or thereabouts. And then there's a week of prep for the week of summer vacation. Did I miss anything? Sounds like there should be at least 6 good months for me to leisurely blog my life away. Whew!
You're a studious student now; make your rounds when you can.
My regards to nimble Alice.
Another reason I take my Kindle everywhere I go. When writing becomes an obligation, the fun dies with it.
I was so looking forward to the end of winter that I forgot about the season that takes its place - road construction. Oh, well. I can deal with it for a few months. I don't have an "Alice" though, so I'll have to stick it out with the other drivers.
There is a cartoon called happiness & cyanide? That's freaking great~
I wish I didn't have to have a car, but where I live and the nature of the work I do takes me all over the place. Putting the "out" in "outreach."
Another option would be to travel during the 4 AM hour or the 11 PM hour. There's still road construction, but very few cars on the road. I fly right through.
Good luck with all the finals! I'm looking forward to you having some time off too!
Good to see another year come to an end. And your mumbo jumbos are way more entertaining than mine. Love how you used Alice to get past those commuters. Alice 1, Cars 0.
