This was another good week. I'm realizing that this back-to-school business isn't so bad, and I've settled into the whole routine of it. That's not to say I'm not anxious to be finished, but it's doable. I like my classmates, many of whom are also *COUGH* older and on second (or third...) careers.
ReptiCon Denver was fun. It's usually good to get out of our own backyard and partake of these things, even if we're not looking to bring anything home. In addition to the creepy crawlies, there were plenty of fun people watching opportunities.
On Friday afternoon, I was all caught up after a busy week and plopped onto the futon for some potato time with my current novel, ready to settle into the weekend. Next thing, Chaco popped in to pick up some provi$ion$. We got to just talking and catching up on general things: school, his roommates, cooking, our teachers, bicycles, bronies... He ended up missing a class and stayed for dinner. He said his class instructor puts all the lectures online anyway, plus he had a good excuse, he was visiting his mom.
He also covertly asked, "When are you going to cut Meego's hair??", to which I could reply, "It's on our list of things to do... see?
It might just happen later today! Crossing my fingers.

Grocery shopping on the weekend = bad news. I shop on MY weekend, when everyone else is at work.
I noticed Meego's hair in your last post and thought to myself that Amp would be so jealous. He lets his hair grow until the school tells him he has to get it cut. Then he begrudgingly lets them cut off the least amount possible and still be in dress code.
I giggled at your to-do list. Was that Meego's wish, or yours?
Meego's been avoiding the haircut subject, but started coming around this past week. Then when he saw the ReptiCon photos, he had an "it's time" epiphany.
I *bet* the people watching was fun at Repticon! (Do any of them look like their pets?) I met a lizard named Drake today. (No kidding. I had a nice moment with this kid who lives at the kiddo's group home and he said, "Do you want to see my lizard?")
I find "Reptile People" in general to be really easy going and easy to talk to. I can talk corn snakes with one for about a minute, and I'm ready to have them over for barbecue.
Cool that you met Drake! Reptiles make great pets for kids since, to do it right, they have to learn all about creating an environment for it to survive and thrive in. I like your new friend :)
We have found that a good time to go shopping is DURING a big game....
I went during the Super Bowl once. Best grocery gettin' ever.
I usually go grocery shopping every Sunday. Yeah, it's usually busy!
I've always struggled with herp conventions because I'm a salamander girl, and although I do appreciate my scaly friends, I find they look down on me. However, it does beat football, most times.
I can imagine - It is a wonder that you weren't arrested for UnAmerican behaviour! :-)
Shopping in a crowd is distracting for me. I usually leave before I get all I need.
Like your To Do sign. Great in families living busy lives.
True, but I think all the cops were watching the game.
I try on Sunday mornings, thinking everyone will be at church. Darn infidels.
I almost got a salamander for my fish tank at ReptiCon. Great minds think alike?
When I just wrote "haircut", he erased it.
I remember doing a food shop during Princess Diana's funeral. I was about the only person in the shop. :D
I loath grocery shopping too - especially on the weekends - or right before an impending storm.
How nice to have a surprise Friday night dinner with Chaco!
Awww, I thought Meego looked cute in the Repti-Con picture with his long hair!
Grocery store before noon on Sunday? I have three words. After Church Crowd. Later on Sundays is better, when everyone is watching football.
Glad to hear that being back in school is proving to be a good experience. I know you'll have no regrets.
I do most of our grocery shopping on the weekend but I prefer to do it before the church crowd - less traffic. I've done it once during a game, and it was eerie. Ever tried to hit the grocery store on the day BEFORE Thanksgiving? One word comes to mind - OH-HELL-NO.
If that's the only thing on your to-do list, you're SERIOUSLY caught up! Revel in that futon time!
