how are we feeling?

Ugh.  I feel awful.  I'm going to the doctor's in about an hour.

Thing is, I feel awful BECAUSE I'm going to the doctor's.  I'm overdue for a physical, and really, it's Magnum's work health incentives that got me to make an appointment.

So I've got my barely legible form for the good doctor to fill out, my appointment, and my body in fast mode.  Not the good fast as in speedy, but the bad fast as in I'm Hungry But Can't Eat Anything!  I guess doctor's offices don't want to waste time with people who feel well, so if you schedule a "well-check", they take steps to make you feel yucky.

I don't remember when my last doctor visit was.  My doctor has since been replaced, so I'll meet the new one today.  I rather liked my previous doctor.  She was very down-to-earth and told it like it was without a bunch of medical Jargon.  I remember going to see her with this thing that had become unbearable, and her professional opinion was, "JESUS, doesn't that HURT?!"

So maybe while I'm up, I'll ask about the eye-skin thing.  But I do think it's just related to recent weather beatings my face has taken.  I got some of this stuff yesterday at the healthy store.

I've heard good things about it.  But I just like the cute little canister it comes in.

Anyway, gotta go.  Then there's a sammich with my name on it.

Yea, I hate going to the doctor. Turn your head and cough, this won't hurt (much), you need to cut down on coffee, you may feel a slight pressure, etc. I also hate changing doctors. Having to tell your life story all over to a new stranger is really a pain in the a%% (literally). Hope you are feeling better soon.

They are making you fast why? They want to punish you, not even knowing you? Hope they can help with your eye thing at least.

Oh my gosh. THAT is exactly why I don't schedule well-patient doctor visits/blood tests. Just the thought of not being able to eat breakfast is unbearable. I've done it before, of course, and I'll do it again someday I'm sure. But unless I have something like Magnum's incentive program or scary symptoms of some sort, it probably won't be any time in the near future.
Good luck with your new doc. And enjoy that sammich after! It'll be the best you've ever had.

You're so funny, you like the cute little tin the salve is packaged in, that is so like me. I don't really like breakfast but give me a doctor or lab appointment when I can't eat anything after midnight and gads, I suffer. Hope your appointment turn out to be a piece of cake, oh, maybe not such a good thing to say right now.

Turn your head and cough? Hmmm... maybe we forgot something?

I think you're right. The fasting isn't necessary, they just make us do that, then giggle inwardly.

If not for these cash incentives, I'd probably never take myself to the doctor for a well-check. I'm perfectly capable of making myself uncomfortable on my own. OH, and I forgot to thank her for reminding me that a colonoscopy is in my near future.

Hey, packaging is a major purchasing factor. I hear ya! If it came in a tube, I probably wouldn't have bought it. Mmmm... caaaaake....

Hope it all went well. I'm overdue for my yearly physical too. By like a year. I had this new insurance with the "new" company over the past year and wasn't able to use any of our usual medical professionals. So I waited it out until I could hop back on Mark's insurance and now I can get back on track.

I like your salve canister! How cute!

This is odd - reading about doctors and salves from Abby Abby Doo. You are the fitness Queen in my book!

But, get your butt in there (to see the doc). Join me in an annual visit to the gyno, the mammo chick, the eye guy, the physical doc, the lab clinic, the allergist... Who have I missed? I've already seen the colonoscopy guy, the derma girl, the physical therapist (exercises on paper), and the plastic surgeon - they're not annual visits. And I've managed to avoid the shrink so far.

Actually, it's all good. Just time consuming...like I have nothing else I'd rather be doing.

I assume all went well yesterday and that you're still the fitness Queen. :)

Well get in there! If I did, you can!

And it's pretty easy for me, I just have a family practitioner - a gyno / internist / derma / lab all rolled into one visit. But yeah, still a bit time consuming. Let's see how long we can both keep the shrink away!

I don't like going to the doctors either, largely because I never see the same one twice in a row!
Hope that stuff helps - stuff in old style packages like that is often good!
