Wolfgang's track season ended this week at the State track meet. He and the rest of the 4x800 team managed to secure a spot. They didn't win it all, but made a decent showing and had fun getting there. And I can't end the season without, once again, poking a bit of fun at Magnum's photography efforts. But let me just say that it's all in fun. Good action photos are extremely difficult to get, as things happen so fast.
So here we have the tremendously exciting baton exchange between Wolfgang and Reid... about a second BEFORE it happened. Note that Magnum was using a different camera than his iPhone, so he'd not been recalibrated to the other camera.
In other year-end news Meego had his last school band concert for the year. I'm grateful that his band clothes managed to just fit for one last concert.
I've mentioned that Chaco finished up his first year of college and is now out of the dorm and back
In movie news, Magnum and I watched Cabin in the Woods. I'd never heard of this movie, but it showed up in my Netfli* recommendations. We're fans of Joss Whedon, so I put it in the queue. It's pretty clever, I'll say that, and we both liked it. Definitely NOT for the squeamish, however!
It feels good to be finishing up another school year and prepping for summer. Both Chaco and Wolfgang are done, Meego's got one more week as do I and the hideous vest.
I'll share another of Magnum' track meet shots. I think it begs for a caption if I didn't know what was going on.

All this track stuff makes me feel extra lazy. I love your rubber duckies. I didn't have one either, but I'm with you and had Gumby and Pokey :) Ah, the memories!
Ah, the carefree Gumby & Pokey days! Who cares if they didn't float?
Magnum has about as much photography expertise as I do. And you're right - that second pic begs for a caption. :)
I'm happy to hear June is back! Even if only for another week or so.
We're coming up on our final days of school as well. I'm a little nervous wondering what the boys plan to do to keep busy this summer. Renting them out is a nice idea...
Does the camera have a "burst" setting, so you can hold down the button and take a string of shots?
What movies have I seen recently?
Hunger Games - that was a good one! Reminded me of The Running Man, but better.
Burn after Reading - hilarious, certainly the best thing I have seen Brad Pitt do, ever!
Wow summer stars early for you. My eldest daughter is home on study leave now but will return to school in June and then they both break up early July. I can't wait. Note the sarcasm here.
Somehow your description of June left me imagining a gimpy legged hooker, with a half smoked cigarette hanging between her lips. It wasn't pretty.
Summer break usually hits me like a brick wall it seems. Need to make a bucket list!
Our camera is just a tiny notch above a cell phone in that it has a flash.
I remember Burn After Reading. It was funny and dark at the same time, like Cabin in the Woods. I appreciate the ability to pull that off.
Your schools get out in July? We're in the thick of summer boredom by then.
Well, hmmm... I don't think June smokes...
Which one is Wolfgang? Dark long hair, short curly hair, or the leg. Sorry, I don't have on my readers. Oops, yes I do! :)
I hope you and June will enjoy your last week of working the streets together.
Yeah, that second shot - socializing, a partially bald head, and guys on the ground looking like they're in a war zone.
Wolfgang wasn't quite fast enough to make the first photo. His teammate is standing in the blue, waiting. He's in the second photo - the dark haired one with tan lines, stepping over the bodies.
One last week of street walking - better with June.
Ah yes, the tan lines. lol
That second photo is hilarious! And yes it totally deserves a great caption!
Glad to hear that June is back. I spent many a sleepless night worrying about what it was that caused her sudden disappearance. (I might be exaggerating a bit about the amount of sleeplessness.)
Sounds like everyone is winding down and getting ready to shift gears for the summer. Should make for a nice change of pace.
I noticed "Cabin in the Woods" in my Netfli* menu. The review scared me away. I don't do horror flicks.
I wish I could offer you a caption for that last photo. But I completely lack the imagination to come up with anything good.
I adore Cabin in the Woods. I don't generally like that genre. But it was good to see it reimagined.
