take a picture, make a show

You know how when you've had to go so long without it, that when you finally get some, it's just SO good?  This weekend was like that.

I'm sitting here in the afterglow, still feeling a bit drunk from it.

Plus, I even got some more this morning.

Gone is the cold / windy / cloudy / snowy frustration.  Here is the warm / sunny / festive release.  We took an enjoyable bike ride yesterday afternoon.  I made a sex tape helmet cam [video] to record our love.

Loitering outside 7-11
Under the "No Loitering" sign

Maybe it's my imagination, but I think the traffic was more cautious during our encounters with it than usual, thanks to the helmet cam.  I've heard that more bicyclists and motorcyclists are wearing helmet cams in full view so that the traffic knows it's being recorded.  Best to behave.

So, like the hideous crossing guard vest, the geeky helmet cam serves a safety purpose.  I take another hit for our fashionless city.

Today is "Run With Lumber" at the school.   It was supposed to be a couple of weeks ago but got postponed on account of weather to last week but got postponed on account of weather to this week.  Today should be a lovely Lumber day.  I've kept a low profile just in case my friend's Lumber victim's plans were thwarted by the multiple postponements.

And in times like these, as we bask, pillow talk turns to what's next.  Many locals now have Wednesday on their minds.  What's wrong with THIS picture?

I think I can do this, though.  I can do Wednesday.  I'm going to go outside today and be a sun camel!

I have contemplated a helmet cam for a while now. Might ask for one for my birthday...

That weather is crazy, but we are getting similar - sun, then hail then just damn cold, the sun again!

Hooray for some sunshine! Good to hear you were able to get out and enjoy the weather!

Also, what's up with Wednesday? Yuck! The rest of your week looks lovely though!

There is no way I'd wear a helmet cam. I do not want to see the expressions I'd make every time I had to pump those pedals....or fall over.

Yep. You need to store up as much sun and warmth as you can before Wednesday. What the heck.
I'm hoping to 'get some' tomorrow if my hubby is willing. I'll be using a motorized version though. And I probably won't take a video.

You could use a small flashlight....or something that just LOOKS like a helmet cam. That might have the same effect (except, um, actually RECORDING).
Reminds me of the Paul Harvey clip in which a small midwestern town couldn't afford a bunch of traffic cop radar guns, so they only bought one -- along with a half-dozen hair dryers -- and sent the cops out with 'em. Traffic slowed just as if they'd all been armed with the radar guns!

And Weds? Talk about "Which one of these things is not like the other..."!

I think a helmet cam would be a perfect gift for you. Let me know if you need help with the hint dropping.

I'm going to pretend there's no Wednesday this week.

Given the "Rec Specs", the helmet is the lesser of two evils?

Abby said...

Well, that's what the "delete" is for.

Have fun! We prefer non-motorized, but motorized does go for longer.

I've taken the helmet cam (sans helmet) to the crosswalk to record the bad behavior, except the traffic behaves when I do that. I'm pretty sure I could hold a toilet paper tube or similar up to my head and get the same result.

My soon-to-be 13 year old heard the music of the video and came by, looking over my shoulder, to see what the excitement was. She watched for 20 seconds and said, "Oh, Mommy! People riding bikes?! That's like watching videos of somebody's baby." And she left.

Well, if she didn't get it, I did. Thanks for taking me out into the sunny air for a zooming, peaceful, ride.

Very nice bike trail. And nice gloves(?)you had on, too. When I become a serious bike rider, I'll have to get some.

Toilet paper tube -- perfect!

That Wednesday forecast just isn't right! Buckle down! You can survive this! (Good lord, it's GOT to be the last of that kind of weather, right? Right?)

Good job keeping the traffic under control with your unfashionable helmet cam!

HA! I get where your daughter's coming from. That's why I usually just put links to my boring videos rather than embed them right here. Thanks for joining us, and I do love my gloves :). It's all about the accessories.

I was thinking today that it would be funny(?) if it snowed enough for a snow day in May! I think it will mostly just be sloppy wet stuff. I'd prefer rain, but we'll take what we can get.

I hope the weather reports were wrong and that your Wednesday is a wonderful one. Happy May Day.
