Silver Liningness Sunday

Happy February!  Spring is just around the corner, right?

On that note, in better-living-through-boot-sales news, I nabbed another pair of winter boots this week.  I got some pac boots earlier in the season to keep my feet alive during the blustery crossing guard season.  They are warm, but cumbersome to walk in.  Since being quick on my feet is one of the dominant job responsibilities, I decided it was either my toes or the little pedestrians had to go.  Okay, it really wasn't that dramatic.  I found these boots on MEGA sale

Really, I think my house slippers cost more.  They're not quite as warm as the Frankensteinian boots, but warmer than my hiking shoes while being quite comfy and enabling me to walk with the style and grace that my customers have become accustomed  (PFFT :p).  And since I realize that this is the second week I've posted thankfulness regarding footwear, let's move on...

In movie news, we enjoyed Cowboys & Aliens this week.  I admit that I sometimes just go along for the ride in my role of sacrificial lone female with these Action Adventure movies, but I genuinely liked this one. The premise alone is just too fun, then there's the Daniel Craig factor - is it hot in here?

Chaco graced us with his presence yesterday.  Characteristically called me, saying he needed some things from the house.  "Some things" mostly turned out to be cash and a haircut.  He also accepted the spare webcam, saying he had some projects that could use one, but admitted that he mainly didn't want me to donate away a perfectly good webcam.  He's becoming my pack-rat dad more and more each day.

Today's agenda includes a bit of tuting this afternoon, then maybe I'll watch some Super Bowl commercials.   Happy Sunday!

Love the new boots!

I still haven't seen Cowboys & Aliens, but everyone that has seen it, has had nothing but good things to say about it. Hmm….. Maybe I'll watch it tonight while the rest of the world watches the Super Bowl.

"Some things" mostly turned out to be cash and a haircut." - That made me laugh!

You can never have enough footwear and when new footwear involves a bargain price, it must be celebrated! Congrats on your new boots!

I never see movies. I am almost always years behind on watching anything. But it's good to know that when I finally make my way to more movie watching, I'll have your blog to look back to for referrals.

I'm sure it was nice to have a visit from Chaco, even if there were ulterior motives on his part. He's just doing his job as a college student ... learning a bunch and deferring to mom and dad for money or things that cost money he doesn't have.

You know, if you keep buying shoes/boots, you might wind up with a reputation. (Look! It's the shoe lady!). Still, those look like some pretty comfy footwear. And on sale, to boot!

I watched Cowboys & Aliens (I'm a guy). Found it amusing, interesting. Won't will win any awards but you get what you pay for.

Well if the boots stop you falling on your arse then they must be good!

Cash and a haircut. I see he had his priorities right then. :D

I haven't seen the movie, and had to google Daniel Craig. Yowza! ;) I just might have to watch it!
Love the new boots! I almost wish I had a need to wear them, so I could get some too. I spend most of my days in my black work shoes or my black running shoes.
So Chaco's a pack rat. Amp can be like that - never wanting to give anything away, and his room is proof. I would imagine Chaco's dorm doesn't allow for to much rat packin' though.
Enjoy the commercials! I'll be watching them too.

I saw what you did there, Mr. "on sale, to boot!"

I thought the movie had really good casting. Middle son noted that it was good just as a western before the aliens showed up to the party.

There's no guarantee that I won't fall on my arse.

I don't know where those guys put all their stuff. From what I've seen, most of the space reserved for clothing stores something other than clothing.
You had to google Daniel Craig!? Oh, we have to get you caught UP, woman!

70% off, I HAD to buy them!

He did need a haircut badly. I didn't know if the clippers could take it. I contemplated dropping him off at Wag 'n' Wash like we do the pooch.

Well.. umm... I've SEEN him before. I just didn't know that was his name.
Okay, yeah, I'm a little out of it...

70% off? And you got BOTH boots? What a deal!
I'm a bit of a movie non-connoisseur & had to look up Daniel Craig, too. At first, I thought he was that diet plan guy....y'know, Jenny.

Cowboys vs Aliens was great fun!

And yes, Spring is coming - in Friday there was still a glimmer of sun on the horizon when I got home from work...

And yeah, I got laces even.
