gettin' some!

Let it you-know-what!  We woke up this morning to  this white fluffy stuff.  I'd almost forgotten what it looked like.

Not a major dumping, but more than a dusting too, so we'll take it.

I also had to jog my memory to remember what one wears in such weather when one is a crossing guard (who strangely refers to oneself as "one"?).  I remembered the leggings-under-the-jeans at the last minute, and it would've been annoyingly uncomfortable had I forgotten.

In related sad/suspicious news, June informs me that her awesome leopard patterned earmuffs have gone a-missing.  Hers too now!?  Clearly, there's some sort of crossing guard earmuff theft ring afoot!  I've pretty much given up hope of ever finding mine, but the trail for June's is still warm - pun intended?

As I worked my post, I noticed a bit of slipping, sliding, and fish-tailing.  The crosswalk is on an east/west hill, with the little pedestrians commuting north/south.  Each time a pack crossed, my mantra to the cars coming down the hill was please-stop-please-stop-please-stop-please-stop... moreso than usual.  They thankfully managed to do that.

No sooner had I thawed out, that I had to pick Meego up for a Heavenly Orthodontist run.  Broken retainer wire - had to take it to the "shop".  I'm glad to say that The Element, which has yet to have much winter-driving tests, did fabulously.  Ate those slippery, snowy hills and laughed at them!

Okay, there may have been a little booty-shaking in some spots, but I assure you, that was on purpose.

Whee!  Let it snow!

We're in the same type of weather pattern here. Highs in the 20s last week, 70s this week, returning to 20s this weekend. No wonder you can't remember how to dress!
The Element is probably loving the snow! Glad you had some place to go...

Lost winter accessories can really put a damper on things. (How's that for a pun?) However, I have a lost winter accessory story that has a happy ending that may just bring you a glimmer of hope. I've lost my favorite scarf twice already this season and twice it has resurfaced. I found it again last night at aerobics class after not having gone for two weeks! There it was waiting for me right where I left it!!

Congratulations on your snowfall! We got some too, a couple of days ago. It's been balmy the past couple of days and now the cold temperatures are preparing to make a return. Never a dull weather moment!

It's a relief to hear that no cars hit you as you did your crossing guard duties.

Way to go Ellie Mae on kicking that snow's butt!

I now have lots of closet storage since I no longer have to store two types of clothes. That alone is a relief.

70's?! We went from hot to blustery. It would be nice to have some middle-of-the-road weather.

I love happy endings! You've given me hope.

"Balmy" in Minnesota in January - that's just wrong. I'm bracing for some car-on-car violence. It's going to happen someday, I know it.

Well, I figure that's why God created "under the bed".

We've entered that time of the year when you don't know what to wear to work - shorts or snow shoes. Still, it is funny how a light dusting of snow can be worse for drivers than a few feet. Glad to know that Ellie May is able to handle the slippery trails with no problems and still able to shake her booty.

Leg warmers aren't needed much but on the few days we do need them, thank goodness we have them. I for one am grateful to you crossing guards and appreciate your being there to keep children safe.

So true. The accident count was ridiculous.

Aw, thank you, CiCi :)

Ah, broken retainer wires....

You do live in a place of extremes, don't you? Snow in winter, bush fires in summer! Enjoy your snow, we had great fun in ours!

We've enjoyed the snow, yes! And yeah, it's all part of the drama!

Man, I am SO jealous of any one with any snow. All we keep getting is rain over here. It's winter and I want my blizzard dammit!

"Clearly, there's some sort of crossing guard earmuff theft ring afoot!" Oh yes. Definitely.

And who doesn't love a little booty-shaking?

I can sense the exhilaration in that day! Fresh air, coffee, snow, hanging out with the kid, or all of the above?
