I was on my fbook page this morning when I saw this photo feed from the dirty girl people - from this weekend's event.
It was captioned "Style Points", and I have to totally agree! Plus, I recognized that skirt as being very similar to the neck accessory I picked up during one of our slogs. Was it hers? If so, I don't think she wants it back. Just as well, because I surely didn't keep it.
Through reading the comments on this fun photo, I learned that the stylish dirty girl is herself a breast cancer survivor. She says:
"... it was soooooooooooo worth it!! As a survivor, all I want to do now is live life to the fullest and laugh every day!!! Much love to all my Dirty Girls!!! ♥"
I thought, how right she is. And this attitude doesn't require us to first have to survive some tragic event or disease. And anyways, who of us hasn't been touched, either personally, or through relationships, by tragedy?
Are you living life to the fullest? Have you laughed today?
Style points, indeed.

I'm trying NOT to laugh today. My stomach muscles hurt SOO bad! :)
I think this run did what it was supposed to do. I am proud of myself for taking the bull by the horns, and actually making it happen. It's too easy to get stuck in a rut and let life pass you by.
This particular dirty girl is a great inspiration! I will definitely continue to support the cause, and in turn, live MY life to the fullest. As my hubby always says... YOLO (You only live once!)
That's the way to tackle course with style. I laughed when I saw the two of you after the race. I kept thinking - surely those are NOT her new shooz. Doing a run like that is an amazing and worthy accomplishment. Nice to see you guys step out of the normal comfort zone and jump in with both feet. I am a true supporter of the cause - life's too short to sit on the sidelines. Sometimes you just have to let go of the rope and go all in.
YOLO! And hey, I just noticed the previous pic on the dirty girl fb page - of the start of a wave - it's OUR wave, with your big grinning face right in the middle!
I looked at the pic many times wondering if we were in it, but I never noticed it until now. How funny! I canNOT wait to see the action pics on Thursday!
I saw this pic and thought, "Way to Represent!" Finding out she was a survivor made it all the more sweet. And NO, neither of us wore the new shooz, but had selected sacrificial pairs. No matter what, they pretty much felt like wet cinder blocks after the first obstacle.
I was looking at it and recognized the blonde chick with the mustache...
Life is too short to not live it to the fullest, excellent reminder Abby
That photo and comment really says it all! Thanks for sharing this with us.
I had not laughed, but after coming here, and catching up for the last couple months, i well i didn't lol, but i grinned quite a bit.
I need to remember to come here more!
Ha ha what a great shot! I was just thinking what my cap and bling would look like after a session like that! :D
That woman is the epitome of throwing caution to the wind. We should all do that at least once in a while!
