Hurry!

This week's Illustration Friday prompt is "hurry!" so I made some snails.

YES, we're in enough of a hurry most of the time!  It's good to slow down once in a while.  Back in the old days before cell phones and digital cameras and instant everything, scientists actually drew nature observations in journals.

So I'm playing slow scientist today, sketching some snails (whose reference photos I uploaded from google images while listening to Pandora and had to hurry to finish and submit because of lightning in the area threatening to zap the computer...)

Excellent connection. Snail structure and design have always fascinated me. I've found that I accomplish more now that disabilities prevent me from being able to physically hurry-- At least more things of lasting value and things that bring me satisfaction. Life can be interesting that way.

I could use a snail's pace about now. :) Great picture! Great concept!

I figured you'd do something about running or biking, but snails are even better! Love the colors.

Btw, snails: slugs in houses ;)

Yum. I'm thinking escargot.
Nice visual reminder of a "non-hurry" mode.

I am enjoying slowing down some in my quiet life now. When things get hectic, I stop and get back to mellow.

I like your approach to the subject. I've always though snails were admirable characters but don't always follow their lead! Great colors and nice illustration.

Neat! I really like the single color snails with the colorful foliage as background. A very cool effect. And those are really great snails! I was thinking of doing a sloth but changed my mind. :)

Great snails! I especially like the ones stretching out their necks. They're sure to cross the finish line first.

We should all take a lesson from them and learn to slow down.

Hmmm... Is that my husband and two of my children I see? Who are the others? Surely not me or my other kid. Hmmm...

Once certainty - I use that word... a lot... with "Up" added to it.

"Hurry up!"

Fun post and illustration. :)

I like their shells, specially the one in the middle. Very good drawing.

Speed is relative. Perhaps the snails feel their lives are at a hectic pace. Fun perspective here!
