This week's Illustration Friday prompt is "faded". When I saw it, I sat here at my desk pondering what to make of it. I looked over and saw my little note card I keep, my to-do list for the day. One of the items is "Wolfgang shoes" as he mentioned that he needs some.
Ya think?
I love what you've created. I am hopeless at throwing out favourite shoes and will wear them till their dying days.
ReplyDeleteThanks Claire. It is tough sometimes, but I believe in shoe euthanasia.
DeleteNah. They're good for another year (or at least Run With Lumber). Converse All Stars?
ReplyDeleteAll Star original classic flavor!
DeleteThere's something comforting about seeing an old pair of shoes. Maybe it's because they've obviously been well loved. My question is, will Wolfgang actually throw those away after he gets a new pair? I have to sneak my boys' old ones into the dumpster while they are at school... They hate to part with their favorite things. :)
ReplyDeleteI hear ya, that's what I have to do too - throw the old stuff out on the sneak.
DeleteYou come up with the most original art for these prompts! I love how, in the second picture, one shoe is literally fading out!
ReplyDeleteThanks Scott, I'm glad you noticed that fading out in the smaller image. That's the effect I was going for :)
DeleteThis is great. Old shoes are such a good drawing subject, you get their beauty without their odour. Beautiful drawing.
ReplyDeleteThanks, they were a fun subject. I admit that I used a photo - for obvious reasons!
DeleteLOL. I thought the same thing. What a beautiful drawing. I'll bet they smell.
ReplyDeleteReally nice drawing!
ReplyDeleteDid a dog bite one of the shoes?
ReplyDeleteDoes Wolfgang help with outside work? I used to have my son throw out the oldest pair, use the current ones for outside work, and then he got a new pair for school etc.
I bought new shoes yesterday so I'm inclined to say "Yes" to Wolfgang.
ReplyDeletebeautiful illustration! wonderful technique!
ReplyDeleteReally nice! Comfortable looking pair!
