Illustration Friday Saturday! This week's prompt is "twirl".
To be honest, my first thought was to do a possum illustration because of the way possums "twirl" their tails around tree branches and hang upside down. But when I looked up images of possums for reference material... I learned that, well...
possums kinda creep me out.
So I painted this instead. If you stare at it long enough, it twirls.

So I was thinking, "How bad could they be?" And I went off to google the possum.
Um yeah... creepy.
I like this much better. So colorful and defined against the black background. So not creepy.
Sooo much better than a possum. We have tons of possums around here - usually dead on the side of the road. Sorry. But they're creepy and not very smart either. So your painting is a much better choice! I like it!
Try meeting a possum face to face. Way uglier in person. Grayson caught one in the yard two years ago and it was the nastiest critter I have seen. Not something you want to deal with in the middle of the night.
I like your twirls way better.
Lovely colors and I love the way it pops off the dark background. Great job on the petal folds.
(I totally understand about the possums. Sometimes they look cute in photos but then they have that long icky rat tail, eek! Not cute in real life, although I suppose it's not their fault!)
Lol! I'm so glad you didn't do the possum illustration. They creep me out too, and they must be one of the ugliest creatures! I adore the color and light of this illustration! :)
btw, Google returned 130,000 recipes for possum in 0.19 seconds. Regardless of their appearance somebody thinks they're really delicious. :-)
Your fiery orange and yellow rose looks great.
