Happy New Year's Eve Illustration Friday! This week's prompt is "resolutions". I had a feeling it might be something along those lines.
I've been formulating a few resolutions of my own as it's that time of year. Any bad habits out there waiting to be kicked? New ones waiting to be tooken up? Care to share?? (Is "tooken" a word?)
I was thinking about lent today, as I usually do my 'giving up" at that time, instead of a "resolution."
I'm trying to add more fruits and veggies into our daily diet, but other than that, I think I ma doing well in the "vice" (or lack of) dept.
I should exercise more, obviously. After I'm over this cold, I will get back to the low-impact, entry-level dvd workouts I used to do each time I was getting back to exercise after surgery, etc.
I don't really believe in New Year's resolutions, but I have been thinking that I need to spend more time making art (and less time looking at the computer screen). If I used all that time, I'd get a whole lot more done....
Tooken is a legal word - He went to Vegas for the weekend and got tooken at the craps table.
Are you resolving to stop doing something or do more of something? Stop drinking coffee? Stop eating bad food? Exercise more? Smoke less? Play more video games? Drink more beer? I resolved not to make resolutions a long time ago. You're setting yourself up to fail. Instead, resolve to have more fun.
I don't generally make resolutions, though I've had a few thoughts kicking around in my brain lately. Mainly, I want to write more, be more organized, exercise more regularly. You know, the typical stuff.
I love your drawing! Really well done. I am a little reticent to make resolutions myself and have resolved to just try and accomplish the things I want to do when I can and not beat myself up when I can't. Great piece of work and I wish you luck kicking the nasty habits that you want to get rid off!

Love the work. Any habit changed it for the positive in 2011

If "tooken" isn't a word, it should be! Lovely illo! Happy New Year!
Taken is the correct word but I also like tooken. Lovely illustration of a nasty habit.
Happy New Year.
Hmmm...we all have some bad habits we need to break! Let's hope this New Year, we'll start! Great illustration!

I don’t know if “tooken” is a word... but I like it! And I like your post too! Happy New Year Abby!
I like the feel of this drawing. Nice job! Wishing you the best in 2011!!

What a terrific drawing...both edgy and sensitive!
I read her body language as depicting sadness. I feel sorry for her.
No resolutions for me. I go with the flow...my flow, the husband's, the kids', the dog's...
Some day, I'll finish some of the things that I should. I hope.
