Our neighbors to the south of us. They've got 5 kids, but it seems as though the oldest has moved somewhere - haven't seen her for a while. I think she has a bio mom outside the home. Anyway, they have the five kids, tons of local relatives, also with kids. They have, I think, three dogs, some chickens, a coupla cats, and some "herptiles".
They can be noisy. They generate lots of trash. Their little pomeranian can be a noisy pain in the ass at times...
Today, I noticed a "For Sale" sign up in their yard.

Our neighbors to the south of us. They've got 5 kids. Four girls and a baby boy. They're all cute kids. The girls are active and kind of tomboyish and don't take any crap from the boys in the neighborhood. When I worked at the elementary school, I worked with two of the girls. They were funny and friendly and smart and entertaining and never boring.
I always enjoy our brief conversations. They're just very down-to-earth people. They are animal lovers and their pets are active members of the family. They're newest pooch has only three legs - a rescue dog, I think.
Today, I noticed a "For Sale" sign in their yard.

We just had new neighbors move in next door. Fingers crossed, they seem to be decent.
The people opposite us on the other side drive me up a wall.
People who don't live near us at all at the other end of the townhouse row are awesome.
Go figure.
Interesting post--what a difference a little perspective makes. I am notoriously bad at knowing my neighbors. You know a lot more than I do.
We just got new neighbors on the other side of us. I think they're invisible.
The grass is always greener at the other end of the townhouse.
Yes, perspective. I'm crossing my fingers for the new buyers.
Geez I thought you said your neighbours had herpes..
We only have one set of neighbours, and that's enough for me!
I don't actually know the health statuses of any of my neighbors...
First condoms, now herpes. I'm sensing a theme Joey!
Oh, I'm so bummed your nice neighbors are leaving! I prefer to have neighbors who are unnoticeable. Unfortunately, we have some across the street who have every model of car possible, along with a huge camper. They're driveway and front yard are full of junk which often times spills over onto the street. They're probably nice people, but I'm likely to never find out.
Somehow, I like the "dirt" version better. Is that bad?
I hope your new neighbors are nice too. Bad neighbors are the worst. Worse than a bug infestation because you can't kill them.
We have very similar neighbours to the West of us. They are a foster home so have lots of kids in and out of their care, lots of dogs, generate a tonne of trash - enough to fill a trailer for regular trips to the dump. Our other neighbours complain about them a lot because of all the junk in the back yard and the shoddy workmanship on whatever the man of the house attempts to build, but I try to be charitable because being a foster parent is challenging and hard work. It's all about perspective, isn't it?!
We had neighbors on the other side of us that had company vehicles, personal vehicles, and a big honking RV parked in the street. The people seemed okay, but I'm not sorry they and their used car/RV lot moved!
Well, I suppose you "can" kill bad neighbors, it's just not legal.
Yeah, I'm willing to make allowances for the heaps of trash each week and the noisy pets. it's more than balanced out by their good qualities.
Now I'm just crossing my fingers for who moves in next!
I'm glad you spelled your "their" right. I can't tell you how bad I want to go back and fix mine. Can you do it for me? ;)
Interesting how a bit of "spin" can change the entire story. I'm with Terri, the dirt version sounds more interesting. It is funny how your neighbors seem weird/strange/bad until the new ones move in and you find that they are worse. I hope the new ones are a bit more sedate and have less drama.
DOH! The sneaky their/they're/there! Dang English anyway. Okay, you've used up your one allowed mistake for the year.
And now it's got me wondering what they blog about their neighbors to the north!
I had to read that twice, too. :)
Things change. We know that, but sometimes we don't want things to change.
I hope and pray that the kids have good lives as they continue the journey to adulthood.
Boo Radley awakened us to perceptions, preconceptions & prejudgment.... and the human dignity that unites us.
Regardless of what the signs say, all neighborhoods are full of two-way streets.
Probably blogging about some wacko neighbors who camp out in their back yard on Christmas and have some sort of midnight run on New Years. That and that crazy bike lady who used to moonlight as a crossing guard. No wonder they are moving....
Omigosh, you probably hit it on the head!
Me too. I hope they're moving out of opportunity and not for some negative reason. Haven't gotten the scoop yet.
Showing your cultural side! Well, we've had some neighbors...
