There are other parks. There are other benches.
But Jean's bench, in this park, is currently my favorite.
Jean's bench sits toward the east end of the park, facing west, encircled by large trees that provide the perfect amount of shade.
From Jean's bench, I can see activity along the path that borders the west side, activity within this section of the park, the view of the mountains to the west.
The main path branches off and travels just behind Jean's bench. Babies in strollers and dogs on leashes wander by, their moms and masters enjoying the area of Jean's bench too.
I don't remember precisely when I found Jean's bench. I suspect I was just looking to take a quiet break, and Jean's bench called to me.
A small weathered plaque is bolted to Jean's bench. It reads:
"In loving memory of
Jean C. Brown.
A very special lady, friend, and neighbor
who often walked these trails.
Deeply loved and sadly missed by her
family and her many friends"
Jean's bench is a pleasing, quiet contemplation. A nice place to ponder.
About Jean.

Linking up with Mama Kat again this week for the prompt:
1.) Show us where you go for quiet.

It's strange that the plaque looks so old but the bench itself is shiny and new looking. Looks like a very pleasant place to sit.
Perfect for me, except I'd have to ride a bike to get there. I could drive ahead and be waiting for you. That's a lovely place to sit and contemplate.
Does look like a good place to sit! Good view, shade...
It looks pretty! I'm surprised it doesn't attract more (noisy) traffic.
Yeah, I have no idea how long the bench and the plaque have been there. The water sprinklers probably hit it.
You could drive to an adjacent street and come crashing in through the surrounding vegetation. What an entrance!
Yes, all of the above. And a snack too, if I remember!
There is a small playground not too far from it, so maybe that's where the noisies go to hang out?
Based on the memorial plaque, Jean sounds like a woman who would enjoy having people come to appreciate bench and the surrounding scenery.
That is an awesome quiet place. You're very fortunate.
What a lovely picture. That's a great quiet spot. Jean probably sits there and enjoys it with you once in a while.
A secluded bench in a quiet park.
What a thoughtful tribute, and a nice thing to be remembered for.
I agree!
It really is a great spot.
I like to think so!
My impression is that it's the perfect memorial for Jean.
That does look like a lovely spot. I'd probably have a plaque outside of an espresso shop...
It's never too early to plan.
I love it when benches are dedicated to people. We have some at a park near my home that do the same thing and I think it gives the park a more intimate feel.
