Not a lot of them. Nothing to really get much coverage, and it didn't look like they were going to invite many friends, but still, I draw the line at riding my bicycle to school in snow. Especially since it's sort of the first snow, and drivers get a little weird about it. As much as I try to avoid it, I do ride a portion of the way in traffic.
I decided to give it the eyeglass test. "If I can tell it's snowing when I take my glasses off", I decided, "no bike". So I took off my glasses and looked out the window.
No more snowflakes.
Then I looked at my fish aquarium and noticed that I can't see my freaking bubble curtain without my glasses either. Maybe I should devise another test?

It seems a bit early. We typically don't get snow or cold-enough-to-snow until about Halloween or a little later. The last time we had a wintry October was just a few years ago. That winter ended up with record snow amounts and so many snowdays for the schools that the kids had to tack on extra to the end of the year.
Snowdays kind of lost their luster after that.
I've gone through the clothes and swapped out short sleeves for long. We put the heavy blanket on the bed. I cleaned and prepped the swamp cooler for hibernation. And tonight, a celebratory dinner:
Clean-out-the-fridge-and-throw-it-all-in-a-pot soup.

We've had crazy winters in CT the last couple of years, including Halloween superstorms that knocked out the power for days. I hope this wasn't a sign of things to come.
Sometimes I think the world is more beautiful without glasses and we can think that white out there are flowers. No snow in Ohio yet. You can keep it!
The ski resorts are happy. Us lowlanders, not so much.

My hubby just got back from Paonia, CO and the mountains around that area received a pretty good snowfall. I was wondering if you'd had any flurries yet.
We're still in the 60s here. 40s at night. I keep the bedroom window open and snuggle under the heavy comforter. I like this time of year, but I know what it's bringing.
I'll keep my fingers crossed that you're not hit early with a big snowfall. You're about due for "normal".
This is definitely too early for snow! I hope this is not an indication of what's to come for the winter.
It's getting cooler around here too. Just last week we had a near 80 degree day. Now it's jacket weather.
Ellie Mae was out escorting Magnum and the carpool, so the nameless Civic happily took me to the shuttle. It worked out since I needed a grocery run on the way home anyway. Yes, Paonia is up there in snow country! We didn't get as much as them... yet.
You got walloped last winter. I don't mind a good snow day now and then, and it's not like we can control any of it!
We are expecting a corker of a winter this year. In fact, a few mornings ago there was something very cold floating in the are when I rode to work...

Good time for that soup. I think just about every culture has that recipe....like shepherd's pie or even Spanish paella (just add rice).

That is pretty early. Hate to tell you, but we've had a week of gorgeous fall here. 60s and sunny.
That's snow at all! Sorry couldn't resist. It's far too early for snow, but it is getting chilly here in the UK now. I can't wait to get to AZ for some sun.
