Brother Guano graced us with his presence, briefly. And no, he didn't really come for dinner, but it seemed like a better title than "guess who's coming to crash on the futon!"
Just one of those passing-through-the-state visits. Short but sweet and better than nuthin'. I was glad my Tuesday class is in the afternoon, although if it were a morning class, I'd have good reason to ditch.
I played a bit with the new camera that I still haven't played with nearly enough (like, really, at all). Note the grainy photo. Back to the drawing board. But still, I had to record the blogworthy event, since he's one of the sort of readers and cast of characters around here.
I thought I would also slap the photo on my facebook since a good number of my fb friends know Guano from our growing up days. facebook kept trying to tag him as Wolfgang. Really?
And speaking of Wolfgang, he lost his driver's license. No, not as in had it taken away, but as in "had it at Elitch's (amusement park), didn't have it after". *sigh* You know what that means...
*MUSIC OF DOOM*
The dreaded DMV. *SCREEEEEEEAAAMMM*
I said I'd take him this week since he doesn't have a car. How ironic. Since he's under 21, he's got to go to the Teens and Criminals DMV for a replacement. Here I thought I was done with that place until Meego is of age.
So I'll take him. Maybe HE'LL stay for dinner.

Your brother is a good looking man. Hope you had a good time, and not having to cook dinner is a bonus isn't it??
Yes, always nice to visit no matter the duration. My not cooking is probably a bonus all around.
I wondered if it would be appropriate for me to comment on Guano's good-lookingness. Since LL Cool Joe already did, I'll just second the motion. Your parents made good looking kids!
Sorry to hear about the lost drivers license. My kids have lost many things, but we've been lucky in the drivers license department.
Aw, thanks.
And I'm NOT looking forward to dealing with the DMV for a lost-it-somewhere-at-Elitch's driver's license. I think Wolfgang should come for dinner and provide it too!
*ahem* Enter another vote for that spectacularly handsome man. Too bad he's your brother.... that didn't sound right, but you could get rich just by putting him up for a bid.
Grainy or not, that's a great photo of you two!
Sometimes I think that the short visits are so much more meaningful - leaves you both wanting more...
So sorry you have to go back to the DMV. The Teens and Criminals DMV even. Yeah... he owes you dinner.
"And no, he didn't really come for dinner, but it seemed like a better title than "guess who's coming to crash on the futon!" - HA!!!
Oy vey - sorry you and Wolfgang have to go back tot DMV for a replacement drivers license.
PS: What kind of new camera do you have?
I didn't notice the graininess (?) of the photo. Did you take it with the self timer? Regardless, it's good. The two happy, good looking faces attribute much.
The DMV...Ohhh NO. I was there a couple Saturdays ago with Girl #2 getting her learners. Saturday...when they close at noon...not good. Not too bad though, since there was no audible cursing, fainting, or fighting.
Ha - I'll agree he's a catch, but he's done been caught and I, in fact, purposely avoided the matchmaking waters!
I've seen better from that camera, this time, it was slackin' a bit. I suppose short visits are better than too long.
The DMV run didn't seem so bad when we thought we could do it at the 12-minute DMV. Ignorance was bliss.
Well it's a lesson to him not to lose the drivers license again - but what did I do?!?
We recently got a Canon EOS Rebel T3 - purdy!
The photo just isn't as crisp as it could be. I've raised my standards now that we have a "real" camera. Yeah, I'll blame the self-timer.
That's one way to ruin a Saturday. We're going to venture there tomorrow. Probability is very high for cursing, fainting, and fighting.
And HOW, may I ask, did he get the nickname Guano?
Should probably ask him that. The short answer: he's Batman.
Is it safe to peek out now? Your blog friends are too kind (and make me a bit blushy...); it appears the graininess was definitely to my advantage! As for the nickname....
"Anyone know anything about this new guy, ___(me)_____?"
"Yeah, I know him. He's a good sh1t"
"Good sh1t, eh? You mean like bat guano?"
"Sure, why not...."
It never really stuck, but years later I had to quickly come up with an email address not tied to my (ahem) real identity. We'd just moved to the tropics, but all variations on "mango" were taken, soooo.....
So it's not a real nickname; it's just a not-my-real-name-for-Sister's-blog name. :-)
And FWIW, I've told Abby off-line that she had cute blog friends!
So is "good sh1t" a good thing? Like a good flu?
"Good sh1t = Good dude" So yes, a good thing (unlike the flu).
