L to R: Abby, Meego, Magnum |
The guys got on the stick so we have three jack-o-lanterns to adorn the front stoop. We told Meego he's too old for trick-or-treating, but he's out roaming the neighborhood without the candy begging part.
I didn't see any costumes at school today. Then again, college kids can be very individual in how they dress, so maybe I did see some costumes and didn't know it.
So far, we've had a good steady flow of traffic - cute little kids, still in the excited and polite years. Now that it's approaching 8 o'clock, the older more obnoxious ones will probably start appearing.
I'm sad to see October come to an end - such a nice time of year. Today in my teaching class, we did an activity that is meant to help students understand the reason we have seasons. I was cast in the role of "Fall". A happy role for me as I dutifully tipped my head, just so, towards Polaris.
Now, onward toward winter. I for one, plan to not shave my beard for all of "Movember".
.
Very funny. I assume you don't have a beard!
ReplyDeleteOnly in my driver's license photo and I swear it's a shadow!
DeleteOh shoot. I forgot about Movember, and already I've shaved. Blew it on the first day.
ReplyDeleteI'm also sad to see October go. November is nice, but it's a whole month closer to winter. ugh.
The boys (and you, of course) did a nice job on the pumpkins. You all do well under pressure!
Last minute wielding of sharp cutlery makes Halloween all the more authentic!
DeleteIn Indiana, I didn't have to shave my legs until April. In Florida, maybe if I start wearing knee socks with my shorts, no one will notice. (especially striped knee socks)
ReplyDeleteShorts! I remember those!
DeleteMeego's jack-o-lantern has quite an intimidating look! I love that yours and Magnum's are cute and fun.
ReplyDeleteOctober went by really fast, didn't it? I just wandered through a few retail stores and Christmas is already out in full-force. Probably has been for several weeks already. I would like to enjoy fall for a while longer though.
I started getting a rash of "Black Friday" e-mails today. Oh, here we go...
DeleteYou are so correct about the sweet young children being polite and appreciative. I wasn't home but I was around lots of great kids on Halloween night. It was a fun time.
ReplyDeleteI'm not shaving my beard either!! Haha.
ReplyDeleteI can't believe that this is the first November that I'm hearing of Movember, which by the way, I think someone could have come up with something better. Anyway, I'm not giving up my razor. (I almost spelled it raiser. lol)
ReplyDeleteIt as pretty quiet around our neighborhood as well. Of course, my road to California didn't help out on the plans, but since my kid has moved north to Austin, we don't quite celebrate Halloween like we used to. still enjoy seeing the little pirates and princesses with their parents in tow. No Miley Cyruses this year.
