feels good!

The sun is out!  Could this be the beginning of the dry out?  Either way, I hung my shoes on the clothesline for some good sun exposure.  Those are my shoes from last Friday's ride to class.  They're still damp!  Camp Dry was no match.

It rained more all weekend and again yesterday, but not as hard.  This morning, I went out for a run and was so pleased to see stars.

As for our mini rainforest, the Fire Belly Toads have been quite busy.  They really do bark.  Sound like dogs.  I still have trouble telling them apart from one viewing to the next, but we know that at least one is male and one is female.  In addition to being Fire Belly Toads, they also seem to be... uhm... Horny Toads.

Meego wants babies, but I don't know where we'd put them.  He says we can put the tadpoles in the fish aquarium, but I know my zombie apocalypse fish would eat them.

So we shot a little video action.  Please note that we didn't intend to shoot a porno!  We actually just wanted to film them barking, but they had other things in mind.  Nature's way and all that.

It seems that everyone in the household is happy it's stopped raining.

It is now raining here! Going to get wet going home tonight :-(

Those toads look like they will be interesting pets to have. Do they breed fast? Will the tank look like a ball pond full of toads soon?

I really don't know much about their breeding habits, but I should probably learn. Can't be as busy as your bunnies, right?

Careful getting home tonight, I feel your pain!

I'm so glad you're finally getting some sunshine again and things, like your shoes, are drying out!

:)

Off to watch the video, now!

Hooray! Happy SOMEthing's drying out.
And yay. You got to run. hmph. 4 weeks without for me. :( I'm happy for you. I AM! But tell me, did you really SEE the stars? ;)
Baby horny toads! I'm thinkin' this could be worse than RC's bunnies. From the sound of things, along with the undeniable video shot, I'm thinking a new habitat may be in order, just to house the babies.

Thanks, I don't want to complain about wet shoes when people's whole basements and beyond are flooded, but dry shoes are one of life's simple pleasures.

Bummer you're still runless! What's the latest word from "the doctor"?? And I did see some bright blurry things anyway... heh.

I have no experience operating a toad nursery and not sure I want to start.

Um, don't ask me how I know, but there is a market for a certain frog delicacy. It's called "hasma"....

Abby said...

Okay, you got me to google "hasma". Who the heck decided to eat THAT, specifically?! And how do you know?? Oh, I'm not supposed to ask.

That is the perfect frog porn music, apparently.

Well, I ignored the Doctor and went for a 3 mile run last week, and now I've set myself back a few more weeks. I THOUGHT it was better, and I knew after a 1/2 mile that it wasn't completely healed, but I kept going anyway. I NEVER should have tried it, 'cause I knew I wouldn't quit if I started.
I'm happy that you're seeing bright blurry things now. And thanks for releasing your hold on the rain. WE are finally getting some after weeks of going without.

It's actually amphibian HBO.

I got very wet, but was soon dry and snug.

We have managed to keep the bunnies baby free for a while now - the nearest we had was Panda clearing a 4 foot fence to get into the female's run, but we caught him before he could do anything. His run now has a roof...

Glad to hear things are drying out a bit there. I have a coworker who works remotely and recently moved to Lions, CO. Sounds like that town is uninhabitable right now.

Those toads are energetic, aren't they? I'm curious to see if babies transpire soon!

Lyons took a terrible hit! Nearly all of the residents were stranded and air lifted out with just the clothes on their backs. I hope your coworker is okay!

These toads are fun to have around. They DO do other things, but for some reason, once the camera was rolling...

Let us know when Meego starts with the tubal ligations -- THAT will be an interesting post!

Glad you are safe in the rain and that things are getting a chance to dry out now. Have been thinking of you and your family as I hear about the flooding. Hugs.

It's rained non stop for days here. Typically British weather.

The video made made me smile, although I need stronger glasses because I could just about make out they were frogs, and they were busy doing something. The rest was just a blur. :D

I hate it when I run and get my shoes soaked. Takes a long time to dry out. And Camp Dry only works just so well until you start running through puddles.

Interesting soap opera you have brewing in the rain forest.

That was entertaining. Hope to see more video soon. :)
