next

It seems like we were just packing up for Comic Con + Corn 2012.  Granted, things have been literally hazy crazy around here, but now things have happily settled down some, and *poof* I look up and it's July.

I'm slowly getting caught up on things.  Kat, the cat, has been spayed.  Note that I have a name for her.  No, it's not an official family sanctioned name.  That is still in the land of impasse, which I grew tired of, so I just started calling her Kat.  If you spell it with a capitol "K", that makes it a proper name.  So there.

Like others have mentioned, I don't think cats much care what their names are.  So she's Kat to me.

Strange story, however.  I mentioned I took her to the vet's to get the once over.  The vet shaved a patch to look for a spay scar and found none, so we scheduled it.  After she was all prepped, the vet called me and said, "We shaved more off of her, and she does have this strange scar higher up that could be a spay scar, but it's different so we can't be sure.  What should we do?"

I made the executive decision to keep going.  The vet did a small incision - just enough to allow her to dig around.  Alas, no uterus.

Aside from a couple of gerbils and our fish, all of our pets have been strays and we can only guess as to where they came from.  What is Kat's story?  Other than that she has now been spayed twice.

So anyway, new cat with a new scar in a new month. I've signed on for another month of daily blogging for July.  As expected, even though I fell off the wagon in June because we were up to our ears in corn, no one over at BlogHer much cared.

NaBloPoMo July 2012

This month's theme is "kids", something we are assured Kat won't be doing.

Kat, the cat, has come into your lives at an eventful time of your lives; her being one of the events. Too bad the NaBloPoMo theme isn't pets; however, you'll surely have lots to talk about in the kid department. Good luck!

I wonder which would have been more expensive: anesthesia (assuming he used it) and checking through an incision, or an ultrasound. hmmmm

We had a baby squirrel tonight that walked up to the porch and was about three feet away from me when Stud read my thoughts: "Noooooo. You can't have him."

dream killer!

Yep, I'm sure everyone will remember what was going on when we got her!

I wondered that too...

We like strays. They're tough. And mysterious.

We have lots of squirrels too. We should make little bomber helmets and goggles for them!

You're right, cats don't care what their names are (they don't care what your name is either)!

I saw this quote: "Every man needs a dog to adore him, and a cat to ignore him."

I'm sure Kat is just happy to have a new home, loving family and food to eat. She probably won't mind the extra scar in trade for the new accommodations.

You are on a blogging roll! Yes, I'm jealous. If I can figure out how to manage the rest of my life, someday I might manage to write daily too.

I'm curious about Kat's story now too. If she's been spayed once, she must have belonged to someone..... I vote you get creative and share her story with us much like you did the family at the bowling alley that one time.... :)
Thanks for signing up for another month of daily blogging! You're keeping the family together!

Daily blogging! Wow you are brave! I have problems with weekly blogging sometimes! If only cats could talk the stories they could tell. I hope Kat is settling in well. :)

I've always been a sucker for strays. That's how we fell into our two dogs. Both have mysterious backgrounds. We don't know where they came from, but they have found a home with us. And nice to see you've settled on a good name for Kat. I am sure she will be happy in the lair.

Better safe than sorry - don't want a sudden surge in the local Kap population!

Make that Kat population...
