carry

This week's Illustration Friday prompt is "carry".  I was thinking about burdens, plus, it's hot outside.  The combination produced a camel.

Camels seem to always have smiles on their faces.  Even when they've had the last straw.  Even when they're  "spitting", which is actually purposely throwing up on you.

Keep smiling.

Haha, I didn't know the spitting was purposely throwing up. Good to know! This is a very nicely done camel. I really like the collection of colorful fabric draped across him. Nice!

Nice way to put it - smile on your face when you've had the last straw. Many people think riding a camel is a great adventure, but it is not quite what they "picture". Hope the heat wave is broken soon and you guys get some sorely needed rain.

Love the picture! I used to think camels were kinda nasty because they spit... but when my daughter and I saw a live performance of Alladin, they walked real camels across the stage, and I saw them in a totally different light. They were extremely graceful when they walked, and I was totally mesmerized.
I hope drawing this camel helped ease some of your burdens. You've definitely had your share of them!

I knew there was a reason I don't like spitting! The colours in this are beautiful especially as Cindy says the red blacnket.

I can't spit. I know. I tried once. Other than that, I now realize there's a camel somewhere in my heritage. I'm always smiling, even while contemplating the end of the world as I know it. Joe says my misery is reflected in my eyes, not my expression. That's a good thing...right?

I've always heard that camels have nasty temperaments. Your, however, looks quite sweet. Very nice illustration. Stay cool!

You're right! I'd never thought of it, but camels DO always seem to have smiles on their faces. Maybe I could learn something from camels. Yours is pretty, by the way.
