I got up to go for a run this morning and it was a balmy 40 degrees at 5am. I had to stop and think. I couldn't remember what to wear for 40 degrees, a good 15 to 20 degrees warmer to what I've become accustomed to. Turns out, I could have gone with one less layer, but a westerly breeze kept me alive.
So it was a very enjoyable morning out, getting home just before sunrise. Just a couple of weeks ago, when I returned home from a morning bender, my hands were too frozen to operate the thumblum of the door lock. Luckily, they made for very effective stumps for banging on the door until Wolfgang opened it for me. My hands eventually thawed, and I got to learn a new word - "thumblum".
No frozen stumps this morning, though. In addition, I was wearing a new pair of running shoes for their first time out of the box. They felt wondeful, very comfy speedy. Two toes up.
So here's a pic of the freshly deflowered shoes and what is left of my purge purchase - a tower of totes! The rest of the stuff I
The totes will be picked up by the thrift store truck later in the week, to someday become some other mom's pain.
Sunshine, new shoes, a tower o' crap. It's gonna be a great day!

Sounds like a great day to me!
Maybe resolutions should start at Easter instead of in the middle of winter. People might last longer that way...
Yes, Easter resolutions instead of New Year's would be much more accomodating. We should start a movement. Can we use your bunnies as mascots??
A beautiful day to be outside! It's such a nice change of pace to go from frozen thumbs to needing to shed extra layers.
Cute shoes! Love the colors!
A great day! I'd be freezing in that weather. Anything below 70 degrees is a blizzard to me xD. I'd be under my covers, brewing some tea and sitting by the fire place in 40 degree weather :S hehehehe!
A balmy 40 degrees! You lucky dog. Actually it's going to be in the 50's for us tomorrow morning, so I'm already planning a run outside. The winds will be very gusty, however, so hopefully I'll be able to push my way through it. I'm going shoe shopping tomorrow too! It's always great to have new shoes! Bouncy!
Your tower of crap totes are definitely money well spent! Sounds like it was a great day!
Certainly - we can discuss royalties later :-)
ANOTHER new pair of shoes? And it is only just the beginning of March. I am so jealous. Great weather for a great run. It is good you are holding up the tradition, even if all those slackers are sleeping in.
No matter what brand or model or price, my running shoes all meet retirement age right around 300 miles.
We'll probably be back in the 20's tomorrow, but I'm still riding the crap tote high. Happy shoe shopping!
70's would probably be a shock to my system right now!
You know it! I bet your thumbs could swap stories with mine.
