Silver Liningness Sunday

Got snow? We Do!!

Woke up to White World this morning. It's pretty. I probably won't like it so much come March, but for now it's good.

Another week down, another batch of things to be thankful for. For starters, I'm thankful for my industrial strength snow shovel, but onto other matters...

Well, it was Veteran's Day on Wednesday, and I'm certainly thankful for all of our veterans. The elementary school sold wristbands (those rubbery kind) for a dollar apiece - all proceeds going to a local VA hospital. It was a feeding frenzy! I managed to buy one of each color before they were all gone. Great idea.

I learned that my neice is getting hitched in January! My oldest brother's daughter. The only girl spawn from my brothers and me. I'm happy for her. Marriage is a nice thing.

When life gives you squishy bananas, what should you do? Make banana bread! I did this last night while it was cold and snowy outside.

And I'm thankful for my students. One of my classes is coming to an end in a couple of days. I gave them their last practice test yesterday. They've worked hard (most of 'em *ahem*) and I really want to see them (most of 'em *ahem*) go on to successful lawyerdom.

Remember how we got new neighbors next door? They seem nice. This week we got new neighbors at the other next door... Stay tuned.

Chaco just said, "I'm going to go shovel the driveway". WHAT?! I'll take it.

More snow already? Do you think this means you'll have 60's in February?

We also got new neighbors...but...not too thrilled about it. Its a long story but the gist of it is, it looks like 20 people are all cramming into the 2br, 1 ba house next door, complete with something like 5 or 6 large vans/trucks in and out of the driveway all day long. The Driveway we share with them. Ugh!

That banana bread looks GOOD!!!!

I guess you have to be born into all that snow for it not to faze you. It would drive me batty. :)

Glad the neighbors are working out - hope the others do too.

A Good son!

Your bread looks delicious. Gotta go - lunch time!!!

Snow now, snow in April, with a few days per week of high 50's.

Baking! I approve!

Though I'm not so keen on the prospect of snow. As much as I'm currently roasting as I write this, snow has never really been my thing.
