We strive to conserve our stuff and recycle everything we can, but sometimes they make it too difficult/inconvenient for people to do it. I do the plastic/paper/glass recycling and I am looking for a place to recycle some old electronics but there isn't anything within 30 miles. Too bad it is only one day a year.agg79https://www.blogger.com/profile/08925069219602681862noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3168047058963833173.post-61108681268740821942012-04-24T20:18:36.404-06:002012-04-24T20:18:36.404-06:00Happy Earth Day! Second, our closest recycling drop off for plastics and cans is 30 miles away, so we're using oil to get there. (We just save up til we have a whole bunch, then go.) The paper/cardboard drop off is in our town though, so we recycle ALL our paper products. AND I bring as much paper and cardboard from the hotel as I can fit in my Mustang to recycle. Can you believe we don't have a recycling program there? It bothers me so much! But I've gotten the other agents to print our reports on the backs of other reports so we're at least using the paper twice before we pitch/recycle it.
I could go on and on, but I'll make myself stop now. Glad to hear you're Earth friendly too. :)Every little bit helps!ShadowRun300https://www.blogger.com/profile/12135867148518005153noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3168047058963833173.post-41021087891240022602012-04-24T08:59:19.751-06:002012-04-24T08:59:19.751-06:00At least we get one day a year to think about it.At least we get one day a year to think about it.Abbyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05853360875281742784noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3168047058963833173.post-22664478772105270392012-04-24T08:57:25.569-06:002012-04-24T08:57:25.569-06:00I think you're right about the "nappy&quo...I think you're right about the "nappy" washing making them a "wash" when it comes to environmental friendliness. I am old enough now to remember the full orange orchards in southern California and the beauty of the Pacific coast and the ice in the Arctic, and much more. I wish Earth Day could be highlighted every day.CiCihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02466038341689494316noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3168047058963833173.post-47773524442981943402012-04-24T04:09:02.771-06:002012-04-24T04:09:02.771-06:00I hope it doesn't smell like a car tyre!

I swear that the extra washing they caused was worse than using dispisable ones, and anyway I have a theory that disposables will be the fossil fuel of the future! We DO recycle faithfully. Our city makes it easy. Throw it all in a barrel and they sort it for us. We're getting better about drinking our own tap water out of reusable bottles instead of buying bottles of drinking water.

Okay, okay, so we have a long way to go, but YOU are inspiring!terrihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12510457113017189354noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3168047058963833173.post-8440346280292064852012-04-23T18:27:52.337-06:002012-04-23T18:27:52.337-06:00Oh no, not that!
