Silver Liningness Sunday

Helloooo  on this sunny Sunday.  The weather people say we might break a record for high temperature today - mid 80s.  We're not supposed to be mid 80s in October, but apparently no one told Mother Nature.

I started taking a new multivitamin this morning.  Do you take vitamins?  Other supplements?  I realize I've taken multivitamins for years, mainly out of habit.  It all started with those nasty tasting Flintstone's Chewables we had as kids.  Remember those?

I guess it was a good marketing ploy - kids' vitamins in the shape of favorite cartoon characters.  I personally preferred Dino, even though they all tasted equally horrible.

So anyway, I bought a different kind this week when I found that my previous vitamins were no longer sold, and this prompted me to do about 30 seconds of research.  Now I'm wondering if it's even worth the bother.  Do multivitamins really do anything?  I took one of my new "Women's Food Based Multi" this morning, and don't feel a darn bit different.

It was another nice week anyhow, and I got caught up on a lot of things.  Bike month wrapped up at the university.  I didn't make it to the grand finale festivities, but I got an email that said I won a gift card for a local pizza place.  Yay, free fuel!

Yesterday, Meego was at a, sort of, mini band camp for current 8th graders to see what high school marching band is like.  He didn't have a direct protege', apparently there aren't any current 8th grade bass players interested in high school marching band.  What is middle school coming to??

And yesterday was a nice day for a band event or anything outdoors.   How nice to have that happen on a weekend.  So speaking of nature, Magnum and I went out and enjoyed some hiking.

... and sitting.

We hit some nearby trails, and there were a few others out enjoying the day.  There was a group of three young girls accompanied by an adult male I hope was a guardian of some sort.  The girls were probably about 10 years old, breaking out the selfie stick while standing on the edges of these cliffs.

Of course.

In movie news, we watched Focus which I'd never heard of.  Pretty implausible really, but entertaining nonetheless.

Now, I think I need to go play outside before Mother Nature sees what's going on.

I've never taken vitamins, but recently read that taking them appears to be a waste of time, but then next week they'll change their minds and tell us all we are going to die if we don't take them.

Glad you having such good wether, here in the UK it's be very pleasant too, not in the mid 80s of course, but nice enough to be outside enjoying the warm dry weather.

I've never taken vitamins, but have often wondered if I should, especially as I get older and start to feel my age. As for you, perhaps you're so fit and active BECAUSE you take vitamins. What if you quit and realize your 50?!
How about I start taking them and see if I feel better, instead of you quitting and finding out you feel worse.
Anyway, enjoy this weather! We're just as sunny and warm, and luckily I've been off here and there to enjoy it.
Perhaps the middle and high schools need a bass playing pioneer. Meego could make history!

I'm just wondering if the vitamin thing is all just a big scam and I'm like the naive person sending money to get my friend out of Phillipine prison...

Enjoy the mild weather, don't forget the bling!

Well, that's the thing. What if I stop and then start feeling crappy, so I attribute it to vitamins, when really it's just 'cause I'm getting old?? Wait... we are NOT getting old!

Yes, maybe years from now, they'll speak of Meego, the legendary bass player. Is he myth?? Enjoy your sunny and warm too, in the here and there!

Flintstones Chewables--I definitely remember those! I OD'd on them when I was very little--didn't know it was dangerous, just chewed up a whole bottle of them because they tasted so good! My parents caught me just as I swallowed them down--had to have my stomach pumped. But I learned! "Good judgment comes from experience; experience comes from poor judgment."

Wow, there's a story!

Oooh, how I hated those! And we always ended up with all of the orange ones at the end, because no one wanted orange Fred.

Orange Fred, purple Wilma... all so yucky!

I like the 3 images with your story.
I remember those vitamins. My kids have them, but they're gummy now. And no, I don't take vitamins... well, yes... a vitamin D tab recommended by the doc.
I'm holding off on the morphine. So far, tea is still working for me. Up to 2 cups though.
I wish I was chillin' out on the rocks, too.
