oh, holy frijole night

Here we are, Christmas Eve.  The "manger" awaits.

Yes, once again, we'll be re-enacting the original Christmas story. We've got a Joseph, a Virgin *COUGH* Mary, three wise guys, and some animals.  The only missing detail is the baby savior.

All right, well, we will be spending the night outside again this year, but it's not really a portrayal of the nativity.  I'm not actually sure of the why behind Christmas camp, but I'm pretty sure it isn't that.  Maybe it's to spend the night like homeless people to help us appreciate that we're not homeless or alone on Christmas day or any day.

Yeah, okay, I'm going with that.

Wishing you all laughter, peace, and love!  Oh, and warmth too, we mustn't forget warmth (inside and out)!

I remember your family getting acquainted with your tent and it is a fitting holiday tradition for you to share the "hardship" of the experience since you all are hardy souls.
Have fun together! Merry Christmas.

I forgot about last year's Xmas adventure. I love the back to nature theme. Nothing like braving the frosty temps with family to truly appreciate the Christmas season. Way better than hanging out at the mall waiting for the next sale. Hope the sleeping bags are warm enough and the stove holds out throughout the night and Napolion doesn't go jurassic on you in the night. But I have to ask - does China camp out as well?

Stay warm and let the sugar plum fairies bring you good dreams. Merry Christmas!

Thanks, Unknown!

The sleeping bags did their job, but until we devise a self-stoking mechanism, the stove will continue to peter out. China and Napolion were all excited at first, then decided we were all nuts and spent the night in the house.

I'm pretty sure you'd be up for it!

Ha ha, I remember this from last year. So cool! Your family is way crazier than mine. Merry Christmas!

That's a compliment - your family's pretty crazy!

You mean how we used to sleep in a freezing shelter? Oh wait, that was our house....

Being in such close quarters, I hope no one had *too many* frijoles.
