Silver Liningness Sunday

First week of November down.  YAY, no more political ads!  As for the election itself, most of the results went the way I'd hoped.  We do mail-in ballots here, and I often wonder how secure and accurate that is, but I was surprised to learn that some states don't have mail-in yet.  Does yours?

I've mentioned before that Magnum's employer has these health incentives, and we've jumped through the various hoops to reap them.  This week, I made my final call to the "health coach" to get all my credits in.  It was a painless and short conversation.  In fact, I would've talked a bit longer, but Ms. Health Coach seemed to feel pretty much done with me.  Okay fine, as long as I got my credits. That 10-minute conversation made for a nice hourly wage.

The weather's been holding out nicely here.  So much so that bagging leaves is actually a chore I look forward to.  Also, this pleasantness is good for our wall-building efforts, which so far, mainly refers to Magnum's wall-building efforts.  I think "Rambo" needs to join in The Great Wall project in a little while...

Along with that, I got a new phone yesterday.  It's pretty. I tested out its camera with a photo from this morning's lovely ride.

I call it "Moon Over MouseTown".  See it?  The moon?

I can just about see the moon, if i put my glasses on. ;) Great photo. It looks like it's on a wide angle setting?

Ah yes right there it is, after I enlarged it I could see it :)

We have the mail in ballots here, I think it is the way to go myself.

It's just the default camera setting. I'm not very picky about my phone camera. I remember when phones were for talking to people :)

The MouseTown moon looked more special in real life. I love the convenience of mail ballots.

I thought you were pullin' my leg about the moon. But the others were seeing it, so I blew it up, and I think I saw it?
Not to take away anything from your pretty camera. It certainly takes pretty pictures!
I have a feeling this semi-nice weather won't be around for long. Better get Rambo out on the job quick!

The moon is there. I think it's pretending to be a cloud.
Our weather is supposed to turn polar today, along with the rest of the country. Break out the woolies!

Phone cameras have gotten pretty amazing, but I remember when phones were for talking to people too. In fact I remember party lines when neighbors shared one connection. I think Ohio has early voting, but I like actually going to the middle school to cast my ballot. Makes me feel like I've participated. Congrats on your health credits!

Nice pic - this time of year has some great colours - bright blue sky, dark clouds, all those greens, browns and reds in the landscape. Love it.

I remember party lines too - ha! Mail-in voting is convenient, but I miss the bake sales at our polling place.

Yeah, it's hmmm, the mountains really are purple from here...

Overheard: "My new phone? It has this app? It's sooo kewl! It lets you TALK to people!"

And in my best Reagan impression, "Mr. Meegochev, Help. Build. That. Wall."

It's frigid cold here now, like most of the rest of the country, but I'll take it over political ads!

Ha - what would Alex Bell say if he saw us now? And yes! Mr. Meegochev will (hopefully) make wall history.

That looks beautiful! And yay, no more political ads!

That is one FANTASTIC phone! My phone would do more if I knew how to operate it. So, consider my amazement when I was fiddling around and found the camera button (which, in an emergency situation, I'd NEVER find), and I emailed the photos to myself, then got charged $4 PER email.

Ooooh... your phone takes pretty pictures! And yes, I see it. (Only cuz I've got my glasses on.)

We CAN vote absentee here, but we're mainly encouraged to show up at the polling place on election day.
