Silver Liningness Sunday

Recall a few weeks ago when I mentioned Napolion's supreme hunter skills?  The gopher trophy?  How I forwent the photo?  The activity has continued.  Gophers... mice... birds...

He brought us another gift yesterday, so if I'm gaggin' the whole blog be gaggin'!  Time to share the love.

I looked out the back door, and Napolion's running toward the house all proud-like with this big old mass o' fur hanging out his mouth.

"Look, Mom!  Look what I bratcha!"

This after I just cleaned off the last gut pile from the unwelcome mat.

How about a close-up, Jim?  (There's no Jim, that's just a random journalistic name that came to mind...).

*GAG!*

I snapped the pic, Magnum disposed of the Trophy.  Napolion probably thinks the trash dumpster is our special place for treasures.

OKAY, now that we've all lost our breakfasts...

Another good week down.  The transition to daylight saving time wasn't too painful.  I keep thinking that we will stop the practice, and we'll be telling our grandkids about switching the clocks twice a year and they'll be all, "Grandma's so weird..." but here we are still doing it.

One nice thing about it is that it is a harbinger of spring.  We're already enjoying nice days mixed in with the not-so-nice.  This week featured both lovely bicycle rides and March of the Penguin reenactment.  Never boring.

School continues to be enjoyable, and I think I actually learn some stuff once in a while.  Spring break is coming soon, though!  No Girls-Gone-Wild for me, however.  I've got a couple of nice tutor students to keep me honest.

On that note, I have to do some homework now.  A lesson plan on anything I want (science/math related).  ANYTHING!   Calculate the average life cycle of a gopher in our yard vs. not in our yard??

MUAHAHAHAHAH!!

Do cats really bring those prizes back as some sort of trophy? To gain the respect and admiration of their keepers? As a "thank you"? A boast?

Or do we (humans) assume that's the case because that's how WE think? Anyway, I've always wondered; I'm sure I'm not the first.

My cat once brought us a mouse in the middle of the night and dropped it in our bed. We thought it was dead til my husband dropped it in the toilet to flush away. Ugh.

I wonder too. One friend told me it's because he loves us. But I can't help but wonder if it's his way of complaining about the usual cuisine.

Oh, double GAG!

Our cats used to bring frogs to the door mat, some half dead. And birds. Not nice, but I suppose it's cats doing what cats do. Consider yourself loved. :D

Awww! I find it sweet that he brings home treats for you! Our cat brings us NOTHING. Of course, he's not allowed outside, so I suppose I should give him the benefit of the doubt. He would if he could....
Have fun planning your lesson! That was my favorite part of teacher school. :)

We are wishing he would bring something home small enough for the snake to eat. Self sustaining pets!

It's a good sign that your cat brings you nothing, because otherwise it would mean the "prizes" were coming FROM INSIDE THE HOUSE! (remember the movie?)

Napolion's just another one of your kids bringing home a school trophy! Look at what I got, mom! At least you are not posting it up on the refrigerator.

Back when we first got Grayson and put him through his heart worm treatment (supposed to keep them calm, no excitement), he went out and caught a possum at 2:30 in the morning. I find that kind of trophy will wake you up real fast.

We should totally put them up on the fridge! Think of the cost savings on the food bill!
Hmmm... I recall when China was undergoing heart worm treatment. I don't think possum bagging was on the list of approved activities. Go Grayson!

Um. Glad I have already finished eating for the day. I can't help feeling sorry for what it caught!

I remember when we saw March of the Penguins it was super cold in the theater, and seeing all of that ice and snow just rubbed it in!

Napolion's treasure isn't the worst thing I've seen this week. (FB sucked me in and I couldn't resist watching Lady Gaga willingly get barfed on by an "art vomiter.")

I guess the coming of spring is one positive of DST. I had a hard time adjusting to it.

Enjoy your spring break!

Is that why you never see people kissing their cats like you see them kissing their dogs?

Way to Go, Napolion! Keep showing them what you're made of.

WHAT!

Just happened to glance up at your comment, Terri. Ewwwww...
