Silver Liningness Sunday

Happy first day back to standard time!  I'm not a fan of that whole daylight savings switch we do in the spring, so it's nice to be back.

This was Halloween week.  I found this newspaper clip photo from high school.  Our Science Club used to have a haunted house fundraiser during Halloween season.  Find scary teenage Abby?  Guess the year??

Halloween around here was mostly cute and fun.  Most of the trick-or-treaters were little kids (the way it should be) - very cute and fun and thankful.

I got this free tech tee from LiveWellColorado this week.  A couple of months or so ago, they had this "Get Movin'" challenge through the MapMy[activity] app.

I don't remember the challenge specifics, but there were prizes for random completers.  So I got this e-mail when the thing was done "You won!  Give us your address and shirt size!"  Oh goody!

A few weeks later, I got another e-mail "We mailed your shirt!".  Oh goody!  By then, I'd practically forgot about the thing.  It arrived this week.  It's nice.  It's free.  I like it.

It's been a busy but productive week.  Yesterday, I was grocery shopping with Meego.  He noticed something on the shelf and commented, "Who would name their product 'SPAM'?"  Us old schoolers know - that's where it all began!

I'm looking forward to visiting some blogs I want to catch up on and getting more things done today.  I like having 25 hours in a day.

SPAM! Made right here in good ol' Minnesota! (Doesn't mean I eat it, though I used to when Mom made it for family dinners.)

Nice t-shirt. Winning something is always fun, especially when it's the result of a healthy activity.

Scary teenage Abby... hmmmm.... I'm going to guess you're the one on the far right, kinda hunkering down under the armpit of what appears to be the tallest scary teenager.

I loved having that extra hour today! I haven't changed my clocks yet, so I keep getting pleasantly surprised when I look from a clock to my computer and see the extra hour. That Spam comment was hilarious!

I was going to guess you were in the back, but on the far LEFT. What year? Maybe 1980??
The extra hour allowed me a little more sleep. Waking at 3am didn't seem quite so bad this morning.
Nice that you were able to keep your prize this time around. Looks good on you!

Nice t-shirt. It's always nice to win something!

I'm back in the UK and just trying to catch up with my blog reading too.

I love that last line! It feels sort of magic and Dr. Who-ish to change the clock and have it be real.

Oh from the mouths of babes (Spam comment).....
Reminds me back in *koff!* 1980 when I was asked, "Was Paul McCartney in a band before Wings?"
Couldn't get much *koff!* LOWER, *koff koff* RIGHT?

Nope, not 25 hours in a day, you just live your life like there is. Like the shirt, glad it is free and also comfy.

I've eaten my share of SPAM back in the olden days. Didn't know it was such a state treasure!
Nope, I'm not in the armpit.

Okay, so I'm not the only one that looks at a clock and gets all giddy knowing it's an hour earlier!

3am is still nighttime, no matter the time of year...
Correct on the year, not for the scary person.

Yeah, I just like winning. I probably wouldn't pick the shirt for myself, but now I'll wear it.

And we don't need a phone box!

RIGHT! Not much LOWER *hack*

I've read your most recent post, so I know which, hmmmm, person(?) you are. That's a fun picture to have in the archives.

Same here. It was quite enjoyable, actually!

Also - HOORAY for FREE shirts!

I am a sucker for free stuff. Shirts, hats, koozies, it's all good.

I love SPAM. Used to eat it religiously as a kid. I keep meaning to visiting the SPAM museum every time I travel to Minnesota, but is is just not in the plans.
