Silver Liningness Sunday

We woke up this morning to a nice cool overcast day - a rare treat here in summertime!  I enjoyed a nice bike ride, and it was actually a bit foggy in some areas.  I have a bright green top with good visibility that I often wear on these morning rides, but because of the weather, I wore a more subdued windbreaker.  Silver lining?

Bright green tires!

Later, Magnum said I should've also worn my pink shoes, but that combo would probably have been nauseating!

Anyway, lovely ride it was.

I've already documented how, this week, The Manitou Incline became one of my top favorite local adventures.

A thing I've noticed in the afterward is that, on the couple of runs I've done since, hills just don't seem worthy of the title "hill" anymore.

Einstein knew what he was talking about.

In movie news, Magnum and I watched a real goody.  The Intouchables is a French film, based on a true story.  You're laughter tears will mix with your crying tears.  Well, mine did anyways.  Finding a good movie on Netflix anymore is like winning a raffle.

I also bumped up my technology score by finally getting a Nexus 7 tablet.

So I've been having fun learning how to use it.  I think it'll come in handy for Operation Back-to-School.

And I've also already introduced Napolion, our latest addition to the menagerie, but here he is again.

Because there just aren't enough photos of cats on the internet.

We've had some terrific weather too! Great for early morning exercising!
I have a feeling you'll be hitting the Incline again soon - now that your "hills" are no longer challenging. (Although I have a hard time fathoming that. Your "hills" KILLED me.)
Love the new tablet! You'll fit right in with all the other college kids, I'm sure.
More cute cat pics? Yes, please. :)

There can NEVER be enough photos of cats on the internet. Ever.

I think it would have been awesome to ride with green tires and pink shoes.

Congrats on your new roommate! He's a pretty boy. I like the way you wrote about how he came into your life. Love the parrot. The colors are wonderful.

I read up on the Manitou Incline after your other post. That sounds really brutal! I am not good with steep ascents or descents at all.

Let's hope the good weather balance hangs around! I took the tablet along for a bike ride. It talks to me :)

The tires and the shoes together... there's probably an ordinance against it.

The boy is very pretty, and knows it.

I'm not normally good with such steep ascents either, but this didn't bother me that much. Probably from lack of oxygen to the brain!

Know that it was YOUR blog that helped me get there in the first place! That said, I did see some others that had me worried for their health, and others who looked like they were in a version of hell for them...

My aunt had a cat named Napoleon! He was white, though. Yes, not quite enough photos of cats on the 'net...
Operation back to school...ugh. Putting it off as long as possible, although we have another month here.
I agree about Netflix. I will look for the film!
If you ever get to Vancouver you might enjoy the Grouse Grind, a famous local 'hill'. http://www.grousemountain.com/grousegrind

That Grouse Grind looks beautiful! If I ever get to Vancouver...

Our timeshare vacation this year: an 8 hour drive to Hilton Head Island. Loved it! And why? Because of all the bike trails, and biking on hardened sand at the ocean. No green tires on our rented bikes, however, the bikes were bright orange.

Have fun with your new back-to-school toy!

Are you just completely in love with Napolion yet?!
I'm having fun with his name, calling him Nap-O-Lion. :)

I think it's a great idea to have loud rental bikes! Who would steal such a noticeable thing?? Remember the old skating rink skates? The wheel color is known as "rental orange".
Napolion is just dynamite!

Love the new tyres on Tessa. With a matching top I imagine you were easy to spot. Definitely hard to miss. I love your experience on the Incline. The more you pitch it the more I am intrigued by it. Although, like ShadowRun, your hills are way more impressive than ours. The only thing I have to practice on for runs is overpasses and football stadiums. Cool new toy - Nexus 7. Hope it helps you in your scholarly endeavors. And love the new house guest (Napolion). I hope he fits in well with the rest of the Abby clan.
