Silver Liningness Sunday

What were we watching??

First of all, although I'm not a fan of Hallmark Holidays, I must begin with a heartfelt Happy Mother's Day to all my mom friends!  And that especially goes to my own Dear Mom!

In this photo, we are sitting much too close to the small black-and-white-and-remoteless TV.  But no worries as I clearly had the protection of Mom, reinforced by that of brother Guano and his alter ego.  This photo was chosen to protect everyone's true identity...

This was a good and busy week.  I've already mentioned the wrap up of track seasons for both Wolfgang and Meego.  Wolfgang has the state meet coming up.  Meego had fun getting his feet wet in this, his first track team experience.  The middle school had three meets altogether.  Five were scheduled, but two were sacrificed to the snow gods.

I'm also wrapping up with the last of my school year tutees, trying to make a graceful transition from tutor to student and figuring out my schedule for the summer.  I think it will all be fun and worth it.  I think.  This morning, I got a tutoring inquiry from someone named Zeus wanting help preparing for his SAT.  Is that his real name, I wonder?  I think it could be quite rewarding to help the Supreme Ruler of Mount Olympus with his SAT.

Chaco has been gracing us with his presence lately, schlepping a few things home as his freshman year is winding down, finals fun this coming week.  I'm glad that he is enjoying college.  I let him smuggle some cookies back with him.

Yesterday, I ran into a friend of mine I haven't seen in a while.  She tells me she's going to be a mom again, with kid number 4 on the way, and that's nice because she's one of the good ones. Yay, moms!

Here in the UK it isn't Mother's Day, that was back in March. But Happy Mother's day to you! Great photo!

Happy Mother's Day to you, Abby! You're one of the more dedicated ones and I know your children are very grateful to you, even if they don't always express it.

Love the retro photo of you, mom and brother!

Happy Mother's Day, Abby! As Terri said, you're a very dedicated mother and have fine examples of kids to show for it! I hope you were able to enjoy your day!
I'm excited to hear how this next chapter of your life pans out! Hope your summer schedule is not TOO full.
And yeah, the good moms can have all the children they want! Good for her!

Happy Mother's Day to you as well! Of all the moms I know, you're one of them. Ditto for what Terri and Shadowrun said. You are one of the hardcore, marathon moms who does everything for the kids and runs a tight ship. Hope you had a great weekend!

I remember our HS buddy The Cauldron* announcing at work, "Happy Mother's Day to all you mothers!" -- then bursting our laughing at his own faux pas. "Wait! I mean....!"

Had a Puerto Rican buddy we called "Zeus", but it was a nickname; his real name was Jesus.

Finally, I'm SURE we're watching Batman -- POW! -- hence the cape.

Happy Mother's Day!

*Real name cryptically disguised

Already planning your summer, huh. That reminds me how old I am now, not switching over to summer mode, my summer is the same as the rest of the year except I get to be outside more. Good thing to because I need to get some exercise. I like that you are the kind of mom to let your kid smuggle cookies back to school. Yay mom.

Happy belated Mother's Day to you too!

"but two were sacrificed to the snow gods." - WTF? You had MORE snow? Holy crap.

"I got a tutoring inquiry from someone named Zeus wanting help preparing for his SAT." - Um. Omg. I can't believe someone named their child Zeus!

Hooray for Chaco smuggling cookies back to school!

And congrats to the mom-to-be!

I love the photo :) Also really love your take on the zombie apocolypse, though not so happy that it seems to be a true thing in today's world, and the same for the incident you saw with the mother running after her crying child. I hope there's a happy ending in that story. Living near Cleveland, that hits a little close to home with the recent rescue of the 3 missing girls. In any case, hoping you had a wonderful Mother's Day and a wonderful week!

Such a loving photo. Even though no faces are visible; the togetherness is very obvious.

That gigantic book in the corner is either a bible or a dictionary. I guessing...bible?

Very observant! That gigantic book is actually a dictionary with teeny tiny print. Who needs that many words?!
