Zoom

This week's Illustration Friday prompt is "zoom" and I think it's mocking me today.

First of all, I racked my brain quite a bit trying to come up with something zoomy.  Fast car?  Fast animal?  A turkey in the cross hairs briefly crossed my mind...

In the meantime, I got Wolfgang and myself registered for the upcoming local turkey trot.  I'll spare the details, but the online registration for the thing was a pain.  I think it took me longer to get us registered than it will likely take us to finish the dang race!

Along that same theme, we went out to the running store because Wolfgang needed some new shoes.  This store is usually really good about having plenty of shoes in stock.  Except today.  Not the shoe Wolfgang wants.  Not in his size.  Anyway.

But, they should be here in a coupla days.  So after all that, I decided to paint some fast shoes.

Going nowhere.

I once did a watercolor of my husband's worn work boots with a rose stuck in one of them. That sucker went into lithograph real fast. Shoes can be fascinating.

The story behind this is so funny! (To me anyway...) :)
I love the look of the shoes. Do they belong to anyone? They certainly look loved!
Happy Turkey Trottin'!

Turkey Trot, eh? Capital idea! No good ones planned here, plus I'm traveling in the afternoon, so guess I will have to trot on my own. We're doing Thxgiving the day prior. ;-)

That's funny!

I agree, and the more worn out the better! I'd love to see your version of those boots.

The shoes sort of reference Wolfgang's racing shoes except different colors and without the name brand and logo, so...uh... no. I guess they don't belong to anyone!

I hardly ever sign up for races (something I wanna change), but this 5k is the only turkey trot in our fair city and it's very popular, rather competetive, and only about a 5k from our house. Last year's winner did it in just over 15 minutes. The top female did it in 18 flat. I wonder how long it took THEM to register?

I still think it. It's all about ME, you know.

Love the color of these shoes! And they look as if they've been broken in just right.

Good luck in the race! Can't wait to hear how you finish.

Nice illustration! I used to love painting and drawing pictures of shoes and boots.
