Silver Liningness Sunday

Nothing like the smell of hot duct dust.

The furnace kicked in this weekend, because, baby, it's cold outside.  But it feels kind of good in a we'll-really-be-freezing-soon! kind of way.

This week was productive.  I somehow got a lot of stuff done and no longer feel like I'm constantly working to keep my head above water.  Now, I'm just kinda hanging with the cuties in the kiddie pool, which is nice.  The kiddie pool is always so comfy and warm (best not to think too much as to why it's so warm).

Wolfgang finally got his driver's license and took the car out for his first solo yesterday.  He "rents" by the mile, unless he's running an errand for me or chauffeuring Meego.  I've missed having Chaco around for such things, so it's nice to have that position filled.  Now, to find an IT department...

As for an update on Kat the firecat, she's huge.  She's not just fat, but she's definitely grown all over since we got her.  We weighed her a couple of weeks ago and she tipped the scales at 12 pounds.  I was going to snap a pic to show her current relative size, but she's camera shy and knows when I'm blogging about her.  Cats have that blog topic sense, of course.

Instead, I took the time to painstakingly do a double portrait of Kat and 70-pound China.

I'm beginning to think she's a cross between a cat and a black bear.  Cool pet!

I have to go be smart in a little while, and that's good since I got all caught up on my dumb, thanks to Dumb Friday.

Yeah cats know everything. It's kinda scary. How come fat cats look cute, but fat Joe doesn't?

Dumb days are very easy to get caught up in. Congrats to Wolfgang on his license!

I got my first whiff of hot duct dust this weekend too. We went from near 80 degrees on Wednesday to the furnace running today!

Good to hear you got caught up on things. I am all too familiar with the rollercoaster of feeling all caught up and feeling all overwhelmed. I hope your caught-up feeling hangs on a while.

Congrats to Wolfgang on earning his driver's license!

I'm sure Kat would tell you she's NOT fat. She's just FLUFFY!

Hot Duct Dust, yes our time will come before long, not cold enough as of yet.

Yes Congrats on Wolfgangs Drivers License, I know from experience he will give you plenty of inspiration for posts in the future.

As for the Cat they just seem to have that sixth sense when you want them to do anything :)

I've been resisting the urge for hot duct dust, but I may have to give in. My little space heater isn't keeping up any more. I'm just in denial about the seasons changing. I completely agree with you about dumb Fridays. I've been keeping them sacred for a while, and I'm much happier for it. Your pet portraits make me smile, and your mirror portrait is lovely!

Our temp is up and down by the hour right now, so if it gets cold we put on a jumper.

Hope you get new pics of the bearcat soon!

Eau de Hot Duct Dust, the scent that says "Bundle up!". We're on the verge, too; I have this vision of dust plumes bursting from the registers once we trigger the system. Koff!

Joe, you have the perfect torso, remember??

Dumb is addicting.

Yes, she's quite fluffy... until I try to pick her up.

Teaching Wolfgang to drive and then sitting through the DMV experience twice, I think, has inched me a little higher on the Mom of the Year ladder.

Dumb Fridays have boosted my Sat. thru Thurs. productivity, I know it!

I may have to stalk the elusive bearcat! But really, opening a can of catfood makes it easy pickin's.

It wasn't as bad as I anticipated. The window blinds on the other hand...

We've resisted the Hot Duct Dust smell, but last night I was VERY tempted. Seems like I was the only cold one though, so I just bundled up.
I thought Kat was fluffy too, until I picked her up. She's definitely solid!
