Lonely

This week's Illustration Friday prompt is "lonely".  Sheesh, how depressing is that??

I really had a hard time coming up with an idea.  Maybe that's a good thing?  In the end I ended up doing these drama masks, with more detail going into the "tragedy" and less on the "comedy".

Drama masks kind of creep me out actually - such extremes.  My thinking was that many people are lonely, but they walk around wearing their happy masks.  We don't know the reality behind the mask...

...or maybe the thought of drawing both masks in detail seemed like too much work.

Either way, MY real face is happy today.  I got to spend real-life time with an awesome blog friend - the famous ShadowRun300!

Stay tuned!

Oh no, you diint! Srlsy? You were able to meet up with ShadowRun300 while she's storming the mountains of Colorado? I was wondering if you guys would cross paths. Tres cool! Details, must have details. And pictures.

I can attest that is an awesome experience to meet up with some of your blogger friends in real time. No wonder you've got a happy face.

I have a happy face as well! (But goodness, I hope it doesn't look like that mask.) Thanks again for taking time out of your day to show us around Red Rock Canyon. It was awesome!

I like how you've thought about this topic. These masks are well drawn and so convincing! Btw, I agree with lotta joy--clowns rank right up there with creepy masks ;)
So nice that you had fun with your friend!
