Silver Liningness Sunday

I'm thankful that the weather is kinda crappy today.

It's been a pretty productive day since I wasn't lured into decadent self-indulgent outdoor fun.  I got caught up on some lesson planning and when that got old, I did some much needed housewifery.  It's like cross-training.

One could eat off of the shower floor, but please don't.

And I think the fish tank water is less scummy, but maybe it's just wishful thinking.

Another nice thing about the crappy weather is that it's brought some life-giving precipitation with it.  Some snow, some rain, some of that weird stuff that is neither snow nor rain but contains water.  On Wednesday, we took China in for her spring grooming - to cut down on the hot black fur coat she wears in the winter.  Every year, the weather turns colder and wetter right after we do that.  You're welcome, thirsty Colorado.

Magnum and I watched a movie called "Cherry".  I liked it overall, in the whole scheme of things, it was a nice story.  I didn't really like it at the start, but I'm glad I stuck it out.

So it was a good productive week. I got a lot of things crossed off the to-do list, and managed to have a little fun in the meantime.   Chaco asked me earlier what I was doing.

"I'm cleaning [snide remark about how that is a foreign concept to him]"

"Why? [hopefully just him playing along with the foreign concept concept]"

"It makes the house a happy place".

We all need our happy places, I hope you're in one.

Glad you got your housework done. I tend to put cleaning off FOREVER, but when I finally make myself do it, it's such a great feeling! Very happy indeed.
Funny what happens when you groom China. The same thing happens to me when I wash my car, or put away my winter clothes...
Haven't heard of Cherry. Is it a new release?

We all need those kinds of indoor cleaning weekends. I hope China is happier with her new doo. That's one of the problems with long haired dogs - with our warmer weather down here, we have to groom ours about 3 times a year.

Good to hear that you did some cleaning this weekend. I need to clean my work space soon x.x It's getting a little messy again.

Thank you, Abby!

My car broke down again Thursday, and has been in the shop over the weekend. I'm supposed to get it back today (fingers crossed).
But I have electricity, and having been through numerous weeks of power outage following hurricanes (especially Ivan), I'd much rather have electricity with no transportation than transportation without electricity--silver lining indeed!

It even prompted Chaco to follow suit! Or maybe that comment about "clean up your crap or it's all going in the trash" had a little something to do with it.

I'd never heard of "Cherry". It's from 2010 and showed up in our Netflix recommendations for some reason.

I think China's happier, it makes her look young! On a few of our pre-grooming walks, I thought she might collapse from heat and I was NOT in the mood to carry her home!

I strangely enjoy cleaning. Except I should do it more often. Happy work space!

Way to look on the bright side! Nothing like a power outage to remind us how much we like having our electricity.

We currently have warm sun and cold wind, mixed in with a bit of rain. I guess that is called Spring?

Yes, I am in a happy place, especially once the dissertation is over.
