Peyton's place

I guess old habits are hard to break.  It didn't feel like Saturday if I didn't play with my art toys.   Plus I needed a graphite fix.  All this painting had the pencils giving me the evil eye.

As anyone who lives in Colorado and many others in other states know, Peyton Manning became a Denver Bronco last week.

I have a passive mild interest in football, mainly just because other people I know are into it.  I don't really care how the Broncos are doing, but living here, Bronco news is pretty unavoidable if one has any contact with the outside world.

I was shopping with Wolfgang (again!) yesterday.  We were at a local sporting goods store.  They already had racks of Peyton Manning as Bronco football shirts.  Didn't he just sign a couple of days ago?  I wonder what sweat shop went into overtime to get those shirts cranked out.

I do like Peyton Manning, though.  I didn't really care what team he ended up with, but he has made some cute commercials.  Now, he's signed a lucrative contract to be, among other things, a resident of Colorado.

Think he'll swing by the crosswalk now that I've drawn him??

Hehehe! Let's hope he stumbles on this drawing, just like we think those patrol cops did!

Anyway, this is a wonderful drawing :3!

If you draw him, he will come.
I am very excited for the Bronco fans! Peyton Manning became a favorite of mine way back when I was part of a fantasy football league. And living this close to Indiana made it easy to become a fan. I even have his football jersey. I was shocked to hear they let him go, but I hope you Denver fans welcome him with open arms. ;)

I doubt I will run into him. I don't often hang out with bazillionaires.

It's strange to think of him as any player other than a Colt. To be honest, if I were to buy a Peyton Manning jersey, I'd rather have an Indianapolis one.

Yea, it should make for an interesting season this year for the Broncos. He may be trading one horse team for another, but it is going to be hard to picture him not being with the Colts. Great sketch of him. Perhaps you can get him to sign it, if you ever run into him (or he runs into you).

I have a similar feeling about football. I could take it or leave it.

It IS amazing how quickly they are able to churn out those jerseys when a player switches teams, isn't it? I've never been interested in having a jersey with a particular player's name on it. They change too quickly.

Great drawing!

I trust your art - in other words, I don't know what he looks like, but I know you got him right.

Actually, I think I did see him on the news, but didn't pay much attention. Can you believe I used to watch EVERY Redskins game? What happened to my interest in football?

So I guess congrats are in order in getting the big guy in your state. "Is" he a big guy? :)
