back from there

Hello, people of the civilized world. Just got back from another blast back to the stone age. Yes, we took another camping trip.

And a successful trip it was. This adventure involved some rock climbing, some fishing, some hiking, some cult activity just up the road....

We arrived at our destination in the middle of a thunderstorm, so spent the first few minutes holed up in the safety of the van. "Havin' fun now, eh?!?"

Soon enough, the storm passed and we were in business, along with the birds and chipmunks and people chanting up the road. Okay, what was up with that?

As darkness fell, we decided to carry out a scouting mission to learn more of these strange neighbors. Sneaking along stealthfully through the woods, we eventually came upon a large log pole structure. Quite well lit, we could make out many bodies milling about.

From our natural covering, we were able to observe these people without detection. They looked to be youngish adolescent types.
We deduced that this was a vampire cult for training up young vampire wannabes. Had to be.

Soon, the chanting was over and all was quiet. They must have been feasting on their latest victim(s). We retreated back to our camp, safe in knowing the young vampire trainees were unaware of our presence.

When we got home, I googled the vampire cult camp and learned of the false front they put up to recruit unsuspecting innocents.

Okay, maybe it's not really a ruse. Maybe they are who they say they are. But the vampire cult thing makes for better camp fire ponderings.

And it kept our minds of the noisy roving packs of coyotes.

Chanting? Are you sure it wasn't a Gregorian Monk training site?

Sounds like a fun trip. I really must give this camping thing a try some time. Maybe. Or not.

Gotta watch out for those vampire cults, especially if they get into a smores feeding frenzy.

Glad to hear you were able to break out of your restless mode and get out for more camping. I do love to camp, especially in the mountains.

Awww... when you said teenagers and 'Vampire Cult' I began to think that you might have stumbled across some kind of Twilight fan convention...
