I'm off to go tutor in a little while. Math is fun, really it is! It's our friend. I think I'm starting to convince this student of just that.

But I felt the need to stop by here and blather on a bit. It looks like we'll be leaving the shackles of civilization for our first feral fix of the season. Camping, people. I think we're going to go camping.

I remember campouts with friends in high school. I never went to any organized "summer camp" thing as a kid, but really, no one in my hometown that I know of did. We didn't even think of it as an option, really. But it was a little podunk town surrounded by lots of boonies, so we took advantage of all those boonies, often heading out after our jobs of catering to obnoxious tourists, to go out and drown our sorrows around a fire.

True close relationships are formed from a recipe of beer and campfire.

And, don't fret (I know many are!). I WILL write of my exciting summer at band camp. Promise.

Camping can be a great equalizer. When you are out in the woods sans a/c and modern facilities, you can get to really know a person. I love to camp. Wether as a scout or as one who backpack in, I perfer to be out in the boonies away from the rest of society.

More stories of band camp (please).

Camping in TX is a bit different...tent camping is okay for about 8 months out of the year. The other four you have GOT to have a/c. When the lows at night get down to a paltry 88 degrees with NO breeze...well, there's nothing pleasant about that experience at all.

I used to love camping trips as a kid but now as a fussier slightly more high-maintenance adult, the idea of sleeping in bags on the ground is anathema to me! Oh well...that is why we have a cabin - which was once rustic but now is nicer than our primary house! How did that happen?

;)

Have a GREAT time - don't forget the bug spray!

Knowing you, it will be an adventure! Can't wait to hear all about it.

I am quite hideously envious! I haven't been camping in approximately seven thousand years, and man do I miss it...

Math may be your friend but no what isn't your friend is questions like this

Ann is taller then steve but steve is faster then pete, pete is left handed, If a bear comes into camp and doesn't eat Earl, who dies second?
